Anyone ever used Photobook Australia?

I found the following photobook deal on OurDeal.

http://www.ourdeal.com.au/shopping/photos/deal/gg-photobook-…

Just wanted to see if anyone has ever tried this mob before? They seem to have a nice website but I don't know if that is just a front for them to set prices against in their deal. If the quality is OK then it'll be a great price. Thoughts?

  • They have some good reviews here but I don't know if the reviews are real or not :S

    • Late reply but.. Uhm, yes, they're real.

I think the quality was pretty good and customisation options were adequate.
Don't bother getting express shipping as it takes a while for it to process and create (5 days)

I have used them when they had vouchers. I got 2 A3 books printed. The quality is decent. Not fantastic, but not terrible.
using vouchers, I think they are decent value. Especially when they had voucher for 80 pages 12x16 for $80. but it cost $30 for postage.

I similarly have a few books from them.
The software is OK to use and the printed results are great as far as I'm concerned.
Printed up a bunch of photos we got from firends at our wedding and personally I reckon the unstaged photos are better than the Official photographer ones. (the official photographer that I didn't want cause I though tit was a massive waste of cash, but my wife wanted and her Gran paid for)
Our book quality is not at the level of the photographers book, but still excellent and for the $100 (or whatever it cost) superb value.
They're printed in Malaysia from the postmark.

    • The largest book they have is only $26.95 + p/h with the voucher. Might give them a go because the reviews seem mostly positive.

  • I have had a couple of books done with them, and the quality of the paper and printing is very nice. Their software also has more options is different to other companies that I've used. I would order from them again.

I have used them a number of times and am happy with the results (though a photographer friend advised that you can get better print quality elsewhere, but for like 2-3x the price).
I always buy vouchers (from them directly) as the represent the best deals - you never need to pay their "standard" pricing, as they always have a 40% off sale or something happening. However, the vouchers are almost always much better than this (60-85% off) and they "lock in" the prices. I normally won't buy a voucher until it's at least 70% off…

They currently have a very good sale:

I haven't use their online software. The downloadable software is very good (though a little sluggish sometimes) it allows you to customise the layout and to get things correctly sized & lined up (you don't need to eyeball things). Also they have lots of page layout templates in the program as well as book templates you can download from their website (called "readybooks").

Shipping is normally not included in vouchers:

My previous books were shipped via DHL from Malaysia and is trackable.
