DSE says 3GB of data which is better?
With the wifi model, is the sim card removable and replaceable? If so, can you put any telstra sim in it that has data and it will work?
Believe they take mini SIM which is removable. Save provider should be OK to swap.
The Boost View 5 by Alcatel for $59 is a good deal for a 5" phone (page 16)
http://catalogue.auspost.com.au/offer/mobile-smart-phones/bo…
Not spectacular in performance from reviews but would be the cheapest 5" ever … maybe?
Had a look at the specs, OS is 4.2.2 and 3G only…..pass
Why is that a neg ??
Because you get 3GB for $19 rather than 2GB of data. It's a better deal
DSE does not have 4G wifi.
It's a wholly different device.
@branko:
Both $19 USB modems are same device
DS: Telstra MF823 4G USB + 3GB Data $19
AP: Telstra MF823 4G USB + 2GB Data $19
Dick's deal is better if you can find stock.
Or if you live near a DS. Freight would make this deal worse than OP. Almost every town has a post office…
Implying you can get stock or service at a post office.
Implying that you can get better service and stock levels at DS…
@pegaxs: I've never had an issue
@Davo1111: Same for my local post office. So basically, your point was moot?
Dick is showing out of stock
Dick is showing…
Well that's just awkward
Just picked up 3 of these from DSE. The sticker on the wall said $19 with 2Gb data. When I said it was 3Gb in the catalogue he went to look and said it must be a new deal…
Can you unlock the telstra 4G wifi online easily? Like if i can take it with me to overseas and buy local data sim, insert it into this wifi modem, then share the wifi with a few others as long as the band and battery is allowed?
A reminder to set your phone and tablet to "Do not auto-update apps". Your devices will treat this as a Wi-Fi signal and eat into your data.

Set up automatic updates over Wi-Fi only
What he's saying is the phone will detect the modem as a wifi device and will update your apps.
Went into Telstra yesterday they said these USB sticks don't work with Apple Macbook Air, they had no idea why!, guess that leaves few people out, like few thousand potential buyers.
Worked fine with my Macbook Pro… What is the problem with the Air..?
No idea why they said that, will go back.
Just back, now they say it will, did not have the deal, so Ive printed it out and will shove it in their face tomorrow
So they are competing with Dicksmith
