        • -3

Doesn't say it comes with the bonuses? So where's the deal?

        • It shows on the catalog but no Buy or pay link. Just takes me to BigW near store. Is there any direct link to pre-order from BigW ?

        • @ozyboy: Big w doesn't do preorders walk in and buy on release day.

        • -1

@holden93: Ppl would be lining up there from 6 AM … so better do pre-order with $69 to save your 4 hours . Time = Money.

        • @ozyboy:never happened for any other games ive gotten from big w in the past.

        • -1

@holden93: If it is not pre-order @BIGW then how they will provide Free Bonus Map (NukeTown) which only comes with pre-order isn't it ?

        • @ozyboy: ghosts came with a piece of paper with the code on it for the freefall map inside the sealed game case.

Dumb move releasing COD so close to Fallout….

    • Activision announced the game will be released in November almost 2 months before Bethesda announced theirs.

      • Oh absolutely I understand that. Most companies actually shift release date whether it's for games or movies when another much anticipated release gets announced to close.

EDIT: Just one example as to something that had a release date first, but still moved once something else was announced.

        • Haha yeah I know, but games like CoD don't shift days. They will be released on the day announced, regardless of how buggy it is.

        • @kaneissik: Nah I get your point different audiences as well. It will be super interesting to see how the sales compare.

        • @stevensx: Can't see CoD topping Fallout, sales were down 27% last year and Fallout seems to be an already early contender for GOTY (see: circlejerk)

        • @kaneissik: This might sound crazy. But Fallout 4 is easily top 3 most anticipated games of the decade - GTA V would have to be up there as well. Bloody hell it went as far as latching onto the old 'Half-Life 3 confirmed' saying. As far as dropping sales, there's no excuse for that, the amount of game consoles owned by households world-wide right now have never been higher, higher sales should reflect that. Smart of COD to jump off the Xbox ship and join Playstation for early exclusives as well, seeing as there are 2 times more PS4's bought than Xbox Ones.

        • @stevensx: I'm excited for both games, I just hope the screenshots for FO4 that leaked a couple of days ago don't truly reflect the game. It looks nice but the textures are still really shitty. But, PS4 screenshots are compressed so who knows. Now Just Cause 3 on the other hand!

        • +1

@kaneissik: I get so into the whole rpg thing (any rpg game) that I forget about the graphics but for action games and even FPS I seem to notice graphics more, it's weird. Just Cause looks crazay!

          My Immediate Wishlist:
Need for Speed (I'm a car nut. Bought a G29 - don't think it works with NFS so on principle not buying that game anymore)

          Black Ops III

Tom Clancy: The Division (Looks awesome but made by Ubisoft which greatly scares me)

        • @stevensx: I genuinely don't get the obsession with graphics. Especially when they actually do look amazing. The way people were crying over those screenshots I thought it was going to look like a PS2 game. People are actually whinging because it looks like an enhanced Skyrim, it boggles the mind.

        • @stevensx:
Definitely, graphics are really a non-issue with a Bethesda game (they've never pushed the boundary in the first place). You get too immersed into the amazing detail of the world. I'm definitely excited!

This year is a really great year for gaming but I really hate that everything is now coming out within days/weeks of each other, there's only so much money I can spare for games!

        • @scarecrow1990:

I wouldn't call it an obsession for me, it just adds to the overall product. Much like great voice acting or dialogue adds to a game, it's not a huge deciding factor whether or not the games a 10/10, it's just a nice bonus. And don't get me wrong, games don't need to look like Crysis 23 to be deemed amazing, some pixel art looks gorgeous as well.

        • @scarecrow1990: Yeah I agree with you. People were expecting Last of Us graphics in a massive open world game, it's ridiculous. I thought it looked great anyway - I was wondering if other people had watched the same E3 coverage as myself when they were complaining….

Being completely honest, the only time in my life where poor graphics shocked me was when I was playing COD Ghosts on a mate's PS4. I had just been playing Killzone which looked incredible and the contrast was crazy. Particularly seeing as the previous COD on PS3 looked better than Ghosts on PS4 (probably because it was multi-ported to both gen systems).

    • It's CoD: An immovable, amorphous blob that couldn't change if its life depended on it. CoD will happen, as sure as the tides will continue to go in and out, and there's nothing you or I or the entire world can do to stop it.

      Drama intensifies.

    • nah 5 days before fallout people "me" will buy both.
need for speed 1 day before cod was dumb.

      • Yeah I'm talking about younger people who can't afford both games. Although those 12y/old teeny boppers are all over COD so I guess Activision have their ass covered….

        • +1

That is the actual target audience after all. Why would they clutter the UI with where to go and what to do and how to do it if it was for adults with functioning brains?

        • @FrankMcFuzz: Feel free to tell that to DICE

    • I think Tomb Raider is the same date as Fallout (atleast according to EB atm). That would impact each other. Call of Duty sales won't be affected by Fallout sales… no way known. Everyone else steers clear of it, and I'd be shocked if Fallout sells anywhere near the level Black Ops does. Call of Duty is like Madden in the US and FIFA in Europe, only worldwide. Many people I know only buy 1 game a year…. (poor souls).

      • You don't reckon Fallout will sell anywhere near what Black Ops does? I'd be happy to make a bet on that!

        • Well given Black Ops 2 supposedly sold around 24.4 million (http://www.statisticbrain.com/call-of-duty-franchise-game-sa…) yet Fallout 3 shipped 4.7m to Christmas in it's launch year (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fallout_3#Sales)

I reckon Fallout 4 has no chance of beating it. I'm not arguing which is the better game and all, I'm just saying don't underestimate Call of Duty, particularly Black Ops which is still very popular. Given the consoles are a little more mature now I expect the Call of Duty sales to go well again as the player base isn't split over generations (as much).

That is 5 times the sales on those figures. That's hardly a contest.

        • @scuderiarmani: If the figures are correct you're absolutely right. But I definitely wouldn't be so confident. Fallout 3 wasn't the franchise that it is now.

        • @stevensx:
Fallout New Vegas sold 5 million to 2010. How is that suddenly a better franchise? (from a commercial point of view) Call of Duty sells more in 1 day. Giving the Fallout series away for peanuts on Steam and Live every other day (probably PSN too I haven't followed that pricing as much) has boosted sales since I admit, but sales 5 years later aren't a great indication. Call of Duty games aren't discounted much, if ever. Call of Duty gets mainstream attention, it dwarfs movies on occassions. If you haven't played Video games you don't know what Fallout is… I reckon Call of Duty is known by far more mums and the like. No franchise compares to that.

        • @scuderiarmani: Hey you're absolutely right, I agree it's a bigger franchise. I just feel as if the hype for this game may push it over the edge - maybe it's the hopeful side of me wishing that a good game full of hard work will outsell a mediocre one produced for the masses with the only aim of making money.

        • @stevensx: Yeah I think you've overestimated Fallout 4, and I'm saying that as someone who's pretty hyped for it. I reckon the hype is all coming from the hardcore gamers, but hardcore gamers are few in number and in the wider world Fallout 4 won't sell like BO3 does. If anything Fallout 4 is the one that needs to move its release date. That being said, I think come Christmas parents can afford both for little Timmy. It's stuff like NFS and Tomb Raider that might need to wait.

As a side note, I think BO3 will be decent. It's not going to be groundbreaking, but Treyarch will put in the hard yards for it and it won't be the cash grab everyone thinks it is. It's certainly not AW with its advanced supply drops. (I'm basing this opinion off the beta)

        • @cheng2008:

I definitely think FO4 will definitely outsell the Witcher (seems way more niche). FO4 definitely has its hype but there's also a lot of people that are disappointed with a few changes in the game the big one being your character having VA. CoD is the juggernaut but their sales are slowly dwindling.

But, who really cares at the end of the day. As long as both games are great then we should be happy.

    • Dumb move releasing COD so close to Rise of the Tomb Raider* :P

      • +1

Dumb move releasing CoD so close to Animal Crossing Amiibo Festival* :3
