Just to preface this. Is there anyway to get certain sites banned from OzB? I don't like the idea that there are so many people getting ripped off because of the OzB's popularity.
Just thought I'd post my story to try and put people off buying from them. I asked OzBargain awhile ago where I should buy some computer gear and one person suggested DealsMachine. I ended up choosing them and its been an absolute sham.
The main take away from this is that I ordered a mini pc. When I received the item 2 weeks late, the only thing inside was the powerplug. I contacted support and they asked me to supply photos of everything from the every angle of the package, the weight on the parcels sticker and anything else that might have helped. This seemed fair and so I took about 8 photos. There was zero sign of the package being tampered with, the weight was completely out (should have been 700g and it was under 90g). The kicker was that the package itself was too small to even fit the computer inside. I even sent a photo of the package next to a ruler to scale and pointed out the product dimensions on their's (and others) websites.
Anyway, there response was weak so I filed a dispute with paypal and figured that would get the wheels turning. DealsMachine then offered a refund which didn't even cover the cost of the device. So to sum up, they still have the item in their possession and want me to pay them for it. So I declined and paypal are taking it from here.
And to people that think its ok cos Paypal will have your back on this, don't rely on paypal. I just received an email from them saying that I need to go to my local police station, file a report and send it to them within 3 days. I can't wait to see the look on the face of whoever is on the front desk when I have to walk in tomorrow to do this.
TLDR. Bought a computer via DealsMachine, they sent a $5 charger and forgot the computer, refuse to refund, now stuffing around with paypal and the police.
What a shitty seller! I will avoid it like a plague.
