  • These have been release on pretty much everything since the snes, how can square justify still charging $16 for them?

    • I guess it's their 'bread and butter' and people are still in fact paying premium pricing for them. Granted you are getting a proper "game" with these unlike most mobile games these days.

    • In the case of games like FF4, I believe this version is the 3d version for NDS, optimised for phones. Similarly, the other games are optimised for mobile. I don't disagree with you, charging $16 for optimising an already developed game is retarded. But people are paying for it, so they're charging it.

You're better off paying for an emulator (NDS, SNES, GBA, PSX, depending of whichever version of the game you want) and just downloading a rom.

    • I think that's the same question Square Enix asked themselves… "We have been releasing these on every possible platforms since SNES, how are people still buying these with these prices???"

A few of them had been remade with playstation 1 quality 3D graphics as oppose to the 2D Sprite based ones on the SNES/NES. Those ones are worth getting and they are the ones that never got released officially in English (eg. FF3 on SNES English is actually FF6 because they skipped FF3-5 for the translation on the SNES). The ones that did get redone are FF3, FFIV and FFIV After years.

Credit where credit is due, unlike most mobile "games" on the market, these are actually games

  • I would pay $8 for FF VI.
Who remember how much the original Super Famicom/ SNES cartridge cost?
