Sports Science Testing [Gold Coast]

Hello OBers,

I am a PhD student conducting sports science research at Bond University on the Gold Coast and I was wondering if anyone would like to participate!

Briefly this project requires 6 sessions with a total time commitment of about 5 hours, separated into 2 different sessions;

  • Session 1 and 2: Begin with a VO2max test, continue with a 15 minute break and finish with 3, 6 minute exercise bouts with rest periods in between. Total time commitment of each session = 1.5 hours.
  • Sessions 3 - 6: A single ~2-3 minute high intensity exercise bout. Total time commitment of each session = ~45 minutes.

During your involvement in this project you will receive a first-hand view of research and a personalized exercise performance report enabling you to have a better understanding of your own fitness, all while being a legend and helping me conduct exciting research.

If you have any questions please contact me via email at [email protected] or 0427 314-888!

All the best,

Damon

  • Do you have any criteria to be eligible? I'm a 30 year old fat man, would that data sufficient or are you after people that can actually work at a high intensity?

    • Hi Cypher67,

      Thanks for your question, I am looking for recreationally active participants, that is exercising > 2 hours per week and can include weights, running, surfing or anything active.

      If you meet don't meet this criteria but would still like to be involved in other research I could pass along the details of some other studies.

      All the best,

      Damon

  • Are you still looking for volunteers?

    • Thanks for getting in touch Dan, yes, I am still seeking participants, though we would need to complete testing by Christmas Eve (at the latest).

      Please give me a call and we can discuss further!
