Seems like a good price for a power strip with some USB ports as well. I like these because I have a lot of devices with US / EU plugs so its handy not to need to use a cheap adapter.

Don't forget cashrewards and make sure you choose the Unbeatable Package which includes a free USB cable as well.

You can pay in USD ($11.99) or AUD ($16.95). According to Google $11.99 USD is about $16.71 so the Banggood currency conversion is reasonable.

EDIT: They also have the Xiaomi version for $10.99USD http://www.banggood.com/Original-Xiaomi-3-USB-Power-Strip-Po…

Mod WARNING: This item does not carry the required Electrical Safety Certifications for Sale or Supply (and/or installation) in Australia. It may be dangerous to use this device.

  • 'Youth Edition' power strips?

    this town needs an enema

    • +2

Which town? Electricity town? Marketing town? Bad English translators town?

  • What does the button on it do? On/off? Reset?

    • +1

If its the same as the Xiaomi power strip it turns everything (including USB) off / on.

I find it pretty handy if you put the power strip on your desk you can switch it off to save some standby power.

    • What does the button on it do?

I think it places emergency call through to the fire brigade in anticipation!

Does this comply with Australian Standards?

    • +2

No, I think you need to buy locally for that.

So if your house burns down due to this powerstrip insurance wont cover you

This is made for the Chinese market but our voltages are pretty similar and I've gotten appliances from China working in Australia without fail since the standards were dropped to 230V in Australia.

This product also seems to have the CCC chinese certification.

    • Their voltage is the same as ours, that's not an issue, it's more that if something complies with our standards it's undergone some form of quality control. Powerboards start fires it's that simple. If you're just using it to charge a couple of phones then sweet, but anything more and I'd be extremely careful.

        I'll edit that for you:

"If you're just using it to charge a couple of phones at someone else's house then sweet, but anything more and I'd be extremely careful."

        • hahaha

I have tons of China brand electrical products.. my house has burned down a total of 0 times.

I HEAR a lot about these kinda things burning houses down but I don't SEE many houses on fire….

          @daveaus:

It doesnt take many times to burn it down, and worse if during deep sleeps at night. Once is enough.

Having said above, I am more concerned with being electrocuted than having my house burnt down.

USB charger are more of a concern than the normal powerboard if the manufacturer skim on the transistors/transformer.

        • @googleyahoo69: I've had two USB chargers go bang on me. And it was far from good. (I bought them from dx.com)

        • @daveaus: Well you can risk it if you like. I did fire forensic investigation for a while as an electrician and engineer and I'll tell you that yes they do burn things. Never cover a power board.

Does this go bang good when you plug it in the power

    • This is quite possibly the funniest thing ever written in the entirety of human history. Hilarious

    • +1

      yes this bangs good

      • Q: Does she bangs good?
        A: She bangs, she bangs

  • So, can charge four devices via usb at the same time? How about two mobiles and two tablets?

    • +1

I think Xiaomi power strip is better. Even though it only have 3 USB, it can actually supply maximum of 3.1A across all of them, or 2.1A if you only use 1 port. You still have extra 1A capacity on the other port to charge other devices, or slightly more than 1A per port if you use all of them.

This Remax only able to supply 2.1A max across all 4 USB (0.52A per port), or 2.1A per port if you only use that single port…

      • Thx yes I feel xiaomi one is better, at least I know the baterry is good quality

  • I have a Xiaomi one and its a great little power board. Came with AU plug as well.

  • I have received mine. Seems pretty good. I think I prefer the Xiaomi one, I ordered one of those at the same time so hopefully it arrives soon.

    • me too, received my xiaomi today, sydney cbd.
i dont get how come people saying they dont get their banggood items, or takes months to arrive….
      maybe just unlucky factors
