Tiger Air Check in - Is Print out Required?

I'm currently at Adelaide airport waiting to get on a flight later today with Tiger airways to Melbourne. Just checked in online and it's said the 'next step' is to print my boarding pass, this is a bit hard to do when I'm already at the airport… Is it required?

Yes! You are required to print your Web check-in boarding pass. Boarding passes displayed on mobile phones will not be accepted.

Sounds like you would be best to head to a self-serve kiosk if there is one there (or go to the desk), to get a boarding pass printed.

    • There's an internet kiosk thing, though no printing service with it (that I can see?) sadly. The tigerair desk is completely abandoned at this stage, gonna wait until about 2 hours before flight and check it again, hopefully they'll be able to assist me…

Our Qantas flights we simply scanned a QR code from our phone screens and that acted as our boarding pass, didn't realize tiger was different.

Yep I did a web check in with Tiger and didn't print the boarding passes, but we were able to get them printed for us at the check in desk. Had to show our ID of course.

Try just checking in again at the self service kiosk. It might work and will therefore print your boarding pass.

Can't find any self serve for tiger in Adelaide sadly, I'll ask at the desk once there's actually staff there.

That's because Qantas is a decent airline.

Seriously though when checkin opens just go there with your ID and ask them to print your boarding passes.

  • Yes. Otherwise they will charge you to print it out.

Haven't you seen episodes of Airline?

Exactly how much would they charge? (if this isn't a joke… It's tiger airways so it really wouldn't surprise me if they do charge for that)

There is no cost if you check in at the kiosk before check-in closes.

  • You will have to go to the check-in kiosk to get a printed boarding pass.
Note: Check-in closes 45 minutes before departure.

    • No kiosk here for tiger sadly. Waiting for check in desk to open

      • OK. Hope it all works out. At least you won't miss your flight.

        • Unless the Tiger escapes from the zoo and the flight is cancelled :P

  • On a separate note, I feel your pain about being early for a flight at Adelaide airport - there is NOTHING to do there!

    • There really isn't. We ended up catching a bus into Glenelg (didn't cost too much) and spent some of the time there.. Adelaide airport is probably one of the most boring I've been in anywhere, it's nothing but over priced food and goods you could easily get elsewhere - an OzBargainers worst nightmare.

    • It's an airport, what do you want there? A themepark? It's way better than gold coast airport.

      • Gold Coast airport is a 15 minute walk from the beach (less if you run like I do). Having a swim 30 minutes before you fly out isn't so bad IMO
