  • Is the free delivery requirement of $75 spend before or after 25% discount?

    • +1

Still shows free shipping even with code applied: http://puu.sh/kYVox.png

Before the 25% discount is applied. There is free delivery on some clearance items below $75 too.

  • What' the RAM on this thing? Can't see it specified on the ebay listing.

    • Features tab: 1GB

      • Thanks, wasn't showing for me when I looked. Suspect browser cache issue. All good now after clearing.

Looks incredibly similar to my Unisurf Tablet from Hardly Normal

      Same manufacturer ;)

Funny you should mention that as it looks like the Unisurf support might be shared with Pendo. I broke the screen on my Unisurf and tried to get some information regarding the part from their support email. Person on the other end had no idea and then I'm guessing escalated the email or transferred it to someone else as I got a response from someone signing off as Pendo support who also had no idea.

Luckily there's a whole bunch of brands who use the same device but just put their own branding on them. Looked around for screen replacements for the other models and found some suppliers on Aliexpress.

Also a thread in the ozbargain forums re installing W10.

That method was to install the Insider Preview.
        I saw the thread, took one look at the multitude of steps and thought;

"I'll be spending more in time than I paid for the tablet! Windows 8 is just fine for now."

The above method from Whirlpool is MUCH easier!

      • 99% sure Unisurf and Pendo operate out of the same suite. If wayback was up I could probably prove that.

that was quick…I got one of these running Kodi. Works fine with 1080p with DTS/DD5.1 sound videos…only prob was the WIFI has to be good (good bandwidth signal). It slows down when someone at home watches youtube videos on their tablets..

  • Anyone know battery life

You realise it's sold out right?
My Unisurf probably only gets 4-5 hours.

All I had to do was checkout. loud never ending sigh

  • Mine from HN broke within a couple of months, the touch screen went crazy. They replaced mine with a HP stream 7. I must admit I prefer the pendo because of the separate charging port and mini hdmi out. You can actually use it as a pc if you want whereas the stream 7 only has a usb port.

    • Mine gets "crazy screen" when there's force applied to the area near the power supply.
Only a problem when I have it in my little keyboard case.
I've had to flip the tablet to relieve the pressure.

    • I bought a bluetooth keyboard/pad and got my 7" unisurf permanently on and left attached to hdmi3 of my TV now. cheapo media pc ftw.

Also completely disabled touch screen and tablet display. Was quite fun when I accidentally disabled bluetooth on the thing.

      • The USB OTG can be used to hook up a USB keyboard/mouse (which I presume is the solution you used)
I'm regretting not spending the extra $5 to get a BT keyboard case.
The USB plug on mine is already showing signs of failure thanks to my kid's less than gentle treatment of it.

        • The 7" doesn't have the separate power port, so that's connected to the charger. That's why I needed bluetooth peripherals. I'm regretting not spending the extra 30 odd bucks and get the 8" one instead which would have allowed me to hook my xbox controller up to it for retro gaming.
