How to Watch Free to Air Anywhere You Like?

I do not watch much TV, but family just show me a dongle like object to plug to USB port of a laptop (with an antenna,) so To watch free to air TV.
He bought this HP device (come with a remote control) for only $24 in Singapore. Anyone know what this is called (so to google) and how to buy one from Australia.

What other ways can I watch free to air TV anywhere?
Thanks.

    • "only for the following countries: Western Europe, Italy, France, UK, Germany, Iran, Israel and Morocco."

      • Australia uses the DVB-T standard. It will work here as well.

    • Can also screw in a much larger antenna for a better signal.

      • Got that as a cashback for a modem i bought but doesn't work. Tried it on a nexus 7 but cannot find any stations

  • Thanks guys. Look it up with the names you provided "digital USB receiver"
The one I saw was like this from HP.

That one appears to be ATSC (for America) not DVB-T (what we use). Searching "DVB-T USB tuner" will give you heaps of options.

  • Any suggestions on USB tuners that can be used on a Mac?
