  • ring some electricians and get some quotes

    • so far ive gotten 3 quotes 550(without certs) , 650 and 750.

  • It's a Mitsubishi..you won't need a warranty.

    • so true , but hey better safe than sorry.

  • youtuve diy vids

  • Not sure of what you need, but agree chase the competition, but haveing ducted put in, I have found that a good job is not necessarly the best job. We had 2 zones, living and bedrooms. This is unfortunate as not all bedrooms are used and not all rooms living are used. We are able to isolate rooms.

Perhaps you should look at ventilation first, insulation for heat and cold, and then ensure you have reverse cycle in the southern states. I am on tablet and will send link when on PC for info.

  • Was there any success finding a cheap installer in Melbourne? I'd appreciate it if someone could PM me the details of anyone cheap that they have found.

  • Sorry I do not have recommendations for cheap installer. Just want to share my experience of having 4 AC installed in our Complex in the lady 6 months.
We live in 2-3 storey apartment. A brand new installation of 5hp took 2 men almost 5 hours, cost $650. Used lots of cables, conduit and bracket among others. And also .5 hour of a licensed electrician.
Another new installation of 2 smaller AC is $450 each. Also took over 5 hours of 2 men and maybe .75 hr of electrician.

So now I've seen how they work I think their money is hard-earned. You can save by getting the right model and get energy rebate.

    Diff story with plumber.
