Designerswatch.com.au Anyone Used Them before

Hey All,

Getting married next week and decided my present will be a decent watch. Had my eye on a Burberry one (model BU9354) which I really like.

Found it at designerswatch.com.au for a very good price but I'm a little sceptical of its authenticity.

Any one used them before? I see watchdepots.com looks very similar (similar address and website layout) but price is a little higher.

Thanks Guys!

Please do a whois (http://ausregistry.com.au/whois) on the website and you can see the results yourself. Never used them, so I can't vouch for them. I would recommend that you ask the seller if the watch comes with 2 years manufacturers warranty or his shop warranty. With that you can easily identify if its a original stock or grey import. He also provides money back guarantee etc. but that seldom helps when they never answers your emails or phone calls. Also noticed that they don't accept Paypal which atleast refunds your money on a dispute in your favor so you're not out of pocket.

How come this site sells it at half price than authenticwatches or jomashop whom are generally considered cheaper for their grey imports. The company's ABN number isn't registered for GST but they are adding GST on checkout which doesn't make sense. As the saying goes, If its too good to be true…….

I would tread carefully on this and would pay a lil higher by buying it from Angus & Coote with atleast 20-25% discount considering that you can get a peace of mind and this is a gift for an important milestone in your life. Good Luck with the watch hunt and congrats on your marriage. Cheers.

  • Thanks mate, youve been a great help. I was thinking along the same lines but the price was very tempting but as the saying goes, if its too good to be true…..

  • Ive found the same watch on chronowatch365. Its a bit more expensive but they offer paypal as payment. Anyone hear of these guys?

As a fashion watch made by Fossil with a lot of well-made Chinese parts, the MSRP is not so much an indication of quality but where they want to "position" it in the market. That's not a knock against Burberry watches at all - they seem quite well regarded by owners.

So the deep discount isn't necessarily suspicious, especially for a previous-season model. It's like "$1,000" Invicta watches selling for $150 on Amazon (or for that matter, StarBuy's prices compared to Citizen's MSRP).

And they are probably grey market:

Sometimes our customers ask us whether we are “Authorized” to sell the brands that we sell. We are not “authorized” as dealers to sell some of the brands, depending on the products.

Instead of a manufacturer's warranty you get a 2 year warranty from the company behind the website, Jakaranda International Pty Limited.

Jakaranda International also run Watchdepot.com, their TrustPilot reviews have some pretty unhappy customers when it comes to post-sales service and warranty issues.

That said, there are knock offs of this watch out there, so buying from an Australian registered company isn't a bad idea.

  • Thanks guys.

Got in contact with the owner of chronowatch and he seems genuine. As you stated thrift, warranty cases would be handled by chronowatch as its basically a grey import. The watch will come with box and warranty card. They offer paypal so thatll be some piece of mind.

Price is a little more than both watchdepot and designerswatch (by the way when i tried to call them it was the same voicemail msg so they are the same company which raises my suspicions) but happy to pay extra if theres less chance of it being a fake.

Ill keep u all updated on when i receive it and whether a professional confirms if it genuine or not.

    • It's a great looking watch.

You might read this post on Watchuseek?

They have Jewellery Association Australia Logo displayed … I contacted JAA and they told me that chronowatch365 is not their member.
They also have Invicta dealer logo but it turns out their are not their dealer either. They cannot use paypal to pay.

Edit: I was thrown by the post time of "1 Minute Ago" on that forum post… seems to be bugged. It was posted May 15th, 2015!

      • Thanks, fingers crossed it all works out fine.

Yep I did see that thread, I assume he's reselling from a dealer and hence why he is not a direct dealer of Invicta. Dunno but the JAA thing tho

I just made payment and was all through paypal so that payment option is now working.

Only minor (well more than minor) issue was that the price was ex-GST and was only added at checkout, seems a little dishonest.

        • Yeah, I added a watch to the cart and clicked PayPal checkout and it went to PayPal, so maybe there was an issue back in May.

Did your receipt identify "VALDRI INVESTMENTS PTY LTD" with ABN 98 600 968 803?

        • @Thrift:

Yep its from Valdri. The paypal receipt doesnt show the ABN but I'll request a proper tax invoice as I need to claim TRS next week on it.

        • @andyman1908:
          Hi Andyman,

im in the process of looking at an expensive watch from chronowatch365 but am slightly sceptical.

how did you go with your chronowatch365 purchase?

          -Was the watch authentic?
-Did you receive a proper tax invoice?
          -Did you receive warranty info?

thanks in advance mate. any details you can offer would be awesome.

  • Anyone recently bought from designerswatch.com.au? Saw many feedbacks and reviews they seems to be okay. I even tried to call their customer service number and team member was quite nice and helpful. So not sure where all the negative feedback coming from? Any legit buyers tried them recently?

  • the fact theres no ABN its run out of a PO BOX raises concerns

however i dont doubt that these are genuine because these are very ordinary mid tier brands at best

the fact they dont have a solid tier one brand says they aint serious
