EBgames are selling this title for $98 so we are looking at about 50% of the Australian retail store prices.

  • How about some more details, what is the standard RRP,you say its a great price, but we have nothing to compare it with

Good Price but be careful, if you want to play the game on the launch date better to get it at a store because it may take a long time to get the game posted. Pre-ordered sims 3 from cd-wow and did not get it until 3 weeks after the launch date, had similar experience with playasia

You are right shipping can be slow but for some people the price difference might be well worth it.

  • NVM.

  • Bear in mind if you want it on the day your best bet is probably from Steam:

    http://store.steampowered.com/search/?term=mass+effect

US$50 is under A$60 (including fees) atm.

    • That is a good deal for those who want it upfront and have the bandwidth

      • Yeah bandwidth is an issue. Then again Iinet give me 100GB a month now (50GB peak, 50GB offpeak) so I'm struggling to know what to do with it. :)

        • -1

Reports on whirlpool put it at about 15gb, but with 100gb you got plenty :)

        • Remember that iiNet has free traffic to its mirror of the steam content so it may cost you 0GB.

Assuming that you resitrict your steam download to the iiNet mirrors with something like http://www.google.com.au/search?q=steamwatch and that its actually available on iiNet

        • Setup a steam filter to direct your steam only download from 3FL freezone.

          You are struggling again :/

  • no hope for optarse users

  • Does this game have DRM protection? That is, can I sell off the game once I'm finished playing with it? Or does it lock itself to Steam?

  • Horrible Site. Waited 1.5 months for an order that never actually came.

$45AUD for a PC game is not actually that cheap.
Comparing it to EB Games prices is misleading because EB offers a physical store/returns policy.

  • To those considering getting this so it can be resold… think again (kinda):

    http://arstechnica.com/gaming/reviews/2010/01/mass-effect-2-…

Inside your case you'll find a code to unlock the Cerberus Network, the pipeline for DLC and new equipment inside
the game. If you buy the game used or don't have a code, the network will cost you a stunning 1,200 Microsoft
points, or $15. Let that sink in: you'll have to pay EA before you can buy stuff.

So Steam probably is the best deal. I wonder how this will handle physical returns at places like EB? AFAIK EB weren't ever that big on returns of opened PC games anyway.

Frankly I find this kind of pseudo-DRM nauseating and objectionable.
