$100 off @ Coles on Approved Coles Master Card Applications

Hello

I've applied for Coles Mastercard and received a mail that $100 off is added on to my Flybuys card.
I remember reading that I will not be eligible to use $100 off to purchase Coles-Myer group Gift cards.

My question is- will I be able to use the $100 on other gift card purchases like Dicksmith or JB ?

Thanks.

  • Is it loaded as FlyBuys dollars? If so I don't think you can:

    Redeeming FB$

FB$ may be used in a transaction at a participating store as payment or part payment for purchases (excluding gift cards, itunes cards and smoking/tobacco product purchases). You must present your flybuys card and enter the PIN. FB$ cannot be redeemed via the barcode on the back of any credit card on which you can earn points.

If you do not use all of the FB$ in the transaction, the remaining credit is retained and can be used in subsequent transactions.

    • Its $100 loaded on to Flybuys card and it was stated that it needs to be used in a single transaction.

  • I think these might be classed as Flybuys dollars. I qualified for the same offer earlier this year and the $100 was loaded on to my Flybuys card, however I had to scan the Flybuys barcode on the back of the Coles Mastercard (NOT my regular Flybuys card - not sure if this is still the case) to access the $100 credit and it had to be used in one go so the qualifying purchase you were using the credit against had to be more than $100.

ETA: Just found a reminder email they sent me at the time. The $100 had to be used against a single Coles shop and definitely excluded Coles Group gift cards and iTunes cards. I couldn't find anything specifically excluding other types of gift cards, but might pay to check with Coles Mastercard first.
