Coles and Kogan to Onsell Mobile Phone Services

Coles is partnering with Singtel-Optus while Kogan is going with Vodafone Hutchison Australia.

"Coles Prepaid is designed with two main plans. The first is a $10 for 10 days plan that comes with 400 megabytes of data, unlimited calls and unlimited texts designed mainly for tourists visiting Australia on short trips.

The second is a pay-as-you-go service that costs $10 and lasts 60 days per recharge. It charges 12c for each text message, megabyte of downloads and minute of phone calls."

"Kogan chief executive Ruslan Kogan said he thought customers would support the new service. "The way we view the past is a bit like the Lion King," he said, referencing Disney's animated children's movie. "Scar was bad, made Simba leave but that doesn't mean Simba shouldn't come back when the time is right.""

Kogan Mobile's plans start from $29.95 per month with unlimited calls, text messages and 3GB of data on Vodafone Australia's 3G network. It will also offer one year prepaid deals that will eventually be moved onto 4G services at an unspecified date in 2016.

How many days does the coles unlimited calls and test and 400mb of data last?

    • 10 DAYS.

      • just read it lol was too late to edit my comment.

  • Amaysim Pay As You Go is 1000 times better than Coles one.

    • It depends on if Amaysim can renew their contract though. I think that's the big question mark.

No idea why Coles got such a bad deal, but there is a high probability Amaysim is going to get something similar. I think that would explain why TPG ditched Optus.

  • Few people site seeing could find utility on the mini-optus, but as analysis points out, only of significance to global roaming charge replacement.

    • +1

Mastery of the utility become of maxi-Telstra, of people can see. This is the synergise of roaming! This is obvious significant, also.

      (in other words, wtf?!)

Well yeas, I'll agree with the opening quoted paragraph, and Telstra have been left out, as not relevant. Saying sight-seeing, roaming, tourists will find 400mb a good size, in that price. Lion king Lebara, no 4g and small beer.

  • Lion King WTF. More like Looney Tunes.
