Where to Buy Affordable High Index Prescription Glasses

I want to use my Bupa optical allowance for prescription glasses (or sunglasses, i dont mind either :)).

The issue is, my prescription is pretty high. So I would need high index lenses such as 1.67 or higher.

Does anyone know where I can get affordable high index prescription glasses that takes Bupa too? Doesn't matter if it's online or in store. My Bupa allowance is only $180. I don't mind adding extra as long as it doesn't rack up to hundreds of dollars.

Any suggestion would help :)

Thanks!

    Specsavers

    • Do you know if I can get a rebate from Bupa?

      • no idea, but they are apparently dirt cheap.

  • I need the 1.67 lenses as well, Spec saves last year was about $150 . Other wise try http://www.zennioptical.com/ but you may not get any rebate from Bupa.

    • really? I remember Specsaver said I had to pay extra for like $200 last year. So could be up to 400-500 in total.

      • I just got mine from Specsavers, still out of pocket $165 even with $220 allowance from Medibank for 1 pair, I don't think $180 is sufficient unless you use your own frame.

  • I've gone to specsavers the past couple years. I think I get a $200 allowance and that normally gets 2 pairs with out of pocket of about $50. I don't know what my prescription is but I'm much blinder than most of my friends who wear glasses haha.
