Sounds like Tassie for you mate. Lots of good surf , wine, cheese, choccy, a casino, sailing, long drives, and country inns. Everything the wife will love

  • Tasmania..
It's the only place in the nation that wont be either absolutely stinking hot, or soaking wet in Feb.
It's wet season in the north and hot season in the south.

So are you looking to drive somewhere with nice beaches? Byron Bay has nice beaches.

    we have been to quensland

Queensland is a big State. Virgin alone flies direct from Sydney to 7 destinations around Queensland.

Have you been to the Whitsundays before? What about Sunshine Coast?

    • I went to byron bay was beautiful.. i love that place..
Sunshine coast?? I never been there.. is that beautiful too?

      • Here is a vid to give you an idea about Sunshine Coast:

Have you been to Whitsundays? Definitely a must do in your life time. But don't just stay at Airlie Beach you have to get out among the islands. A sail boat is the best way there's heaps of two-night trips you can do. Was amazing. Remember this is the first place 'we' flew Oprah Winfrey to when she visited Australia…

It's hard to spell when you're getting axed.

But perth might be become too hot. . Lol
We would like go alongbit far escape from hectic sydney

    • I wouldn't drive to Perth from the east coast. You wanna escape hectic Sydney, but isn't Perth hectic too?

    • Perth will be really good for a long drive…

If your wife just so happens to also be your sister, Tasmania is a very good place to go.

    • Lol I'm sensing tongue in cheek comment

  • Are you currently in Australia, if not where will you be coming from? Whenever we go to e.g. Europe or America we bank on 4 weeks to make up for the jet lag in both directions and give us enough time to forget about how painful the plane trip is.

I agree with the others on Tassie. Hire a car and just drive around stopping at places. Apparently the food culture is quite good down there and there are a number of wilderness areas you can see. If you do have longer than the week you could look at hopping on the ferry between Tassie and the mainland and going down the Great Ocean Road in Victoria. Great beaches and little towns.

    Have a great trip.

  • I take it no one has been to Tassie lately? I feel safer in the centre of Melb or Sydney than I do here.

  • Noosa is lovely to visit with beautiful beaches and river system. I'm planning to go again with my partner for a romantic weekend.

It will probably be pretty hot in Feb though.

    Definately Tasmania.

I have been to Tassie three times and I love it there. I want to go again!

A week is also a good amount of time to go. Fly into Hobart and plan your days.

There's a shuttle bus that takes you to your hotel for $15 per person.

I suggest the following day trips:

Bruny Island with Pennicott Adventures. Hopefully you won't get sea sick. This was such an amazing experience.

A drive to the top of Mount Wellington. Amazing views.

The Cascade Brewery, Female Factory (which used to be a female prison for convicts) or MONA - Museum of Old and New Art.

Port Arthur day tour from Hobart.

Walk along the water of Sandy Bay and visit Salamanca Market.

Salmon fishing and strawberry picking. The food in Tasmania is amazing. So fresh. Must try Bruny Island rock oysters.

If you google things to do in Tasmania. There is a lot to do!

  • I am not sure where you are. If you want a beach to yourself, enjoy walking, fresh air, national parks, plenty of places to visit where you can take a nice drive, like to visit small country towns and won't pay a fortune, you could try down the South Coast of NSW. Complete opposite of Sydney. Peaceful, relaxing, romantic to me lol and lots of natural beauty. Can vouch for this 100%.
