I just purchased the new Macbook Pro 13" with Retina 512gb for $2250 which now costs $2799 on the Apple website.
According to Good Guys website the promotion finishes tomorrow.

fixed :)
That price is even cheaper than the 256GB model!
Most annoying thing is that it doesn't come with El Capitain, so i'm now doing the upgrade!
its free though, just need to dl/install it
What was the %age price hike that apple put in a few days ago?
was different for each product i believe. But I'm pretty sure you won't see the above price for the 512gb model any time soon!
Around 10 - 15% I believe. It'll depend on the product but.
GG's are doing an ebay 20% off as well for non apple pc's and other household goods.
I looked at Macbook Air prices and it seems fairly good, not the latest Graphics card in the airs though.http://www.thegoodguys.com.au/apple-macbook-pro-with-retina-…
256GB = A$ 1889 (10% off till 19/10/2015), was $2099 ,but the Apple website increased $200 to $2299 a few days ago.Dick Smith also are selling this Apple MacBook for $2249.10 (http://www.dicksmith.com.au/apple-computers/apple-macbook-pr…) and currently have 10% off a number of Apple MacBooks (although, not all). If you took advantage of Gift Cards from Coles with 10% added value, then this might be a good time to buy, given that prices have just increased.
No doubt a good discount off the Apple RRP.
But I'm not too sure how I feel everytime when I see new Ozbargain posts pop up purely because Apple decided to raise their prices.
Product A costs X amount of dollars
The next day the RRP for the exact same Product A goes up. Now the same price tag of X amount is OMG BARGAIN!!!
Was still $250 cheaper before apple jacked up their prices.
Exactly my point. No one was screaming bargain then. Only until apple increased their prices
But meh watever. Its a good deal if you need to buy this laptop right now.
Given how infrequently Apple change their prices this is going to be as good a price as you're going to get for at least a year.
I'm looking for a new laptop or convertible, but why should I choose this over let's say ThinkPad Yoga 14 or Surface Pro 4? Is this better, can do more? I have never had this brand..
I'm looking for a new laptop or convertible
Definitely the convertible. Suggest you check out the BMW 4 series.
I am willing to check out its new keyboard, which should be a big improvement, then again I am a bit addicted to the 'red joystick' not allowing me to leave the keyboard on the thinkpad. I may opt for renting one for a week to experience the new SP4.
$2137 if pricematched with Officeworks :)
If anyone wanted the base model Retina, the 13" 128GB is still $1620 :) at Officeworks and GG.
Still would also mention the screen is better to view then a Surface Pro 3.
Price in title please!
