  • Does this work for Westpac credit card statements connected to this?

    • should work

      • Seems like Altitude Black credit card is not eligible?

Did a search on Westpac website and this link doesn't show Black card as eligible..
        http://www.westpac.com.au/personal-banking/bank-accounts/man…

Will removing old provider and re-adding work you reckon?

        • +1

My Altitude Black didn't work either and I had already added Telstra linked last time.

I signed up for a my.gov.au account and linked that instead, that worked and was simple to link. Hopefully that will be eligible? Edit: It is

    Free 2000 Velocity Points

    I think that's worth around $10

    • +2

If you don't collect them. It's worth a lot more to people building up a balance for actually flying.

    • If you use the value of the grand prize (100,000 points valued at $4,087.72) from the terms and conditions for the offer, then the value of 2000 Velocity Points works out to $81.75.

  • CBF because cant transfer to Etihad, Velocity is useless for me.

    • Can still book Etihad award flights quite easily through Virgin website however. Usually lots of availability if you plan ahead.

      • i have etihad gold, and heaps of points too, so id rather add to that then start a fresh with virgin.

        • Fair enough I guess, I am also Etihad Gold, however with the recent Amex 110,000 Virgin points promotion it makes sense to spread your wings as you can book through multiple partners through Virgin. It's much easier earning points through Virgin these days than Etihad, especially if not flying as much.

  • Whats the point of Aust Posts digital mailbox again?

    • +17

To get free velocity points :D

    • +5

To receive duplicate copies of every bill that you already get, and also a bunch of annoying reminder e-mails, because once you've signed up there's no way of turning off e-mails from the original biller anyway.

Does connecting a myGOV account work? It's the only one I can actually add.

Is there a link to the promo T&Cs?

Best is David Jones - simple easy registration and 2000 points!

"David Jones is not a participating service provider for this promotion"

    • +1

Previous post says David Jones is not part of the deal

      • Bugger..they are such a Dick..get you all the time!

        • Not really. They obviously learnt their lesson from last time, when Ozbargainers opened accounts en masse, only to subscribe to DJs catalogues they never intended to read.

Not that hard to find a provider to redirect…temporarily.

  • linked mygov to it so lets see if get the 2000 bonus points.

i want a first apartment trip to London :)

  • well that's awkward. I signed up not following the link. Still added my velocity afterwards so we'll see how I go!

  • hmmm i want the velocity points, i don't want the mygov account. can you delete it afterwards?

    • +1

What's wrong with a mygov account exactly?

    • Don't you need a mygov account to access Commonwealth Government services online, eg doing your tax return?

      • I use an accountant. Signed up for MyGov anyway as you don't have to link to any other services eg ATO if you don't want to. You can also delete your account. So, waiting for my points!

  • Only one I can use is MyGov but I've already got it connected. Anyone know how to remove and then add it again?

  • Invalid address. Please enter another address.

    but the real reason is

    Geocoding API problem: OVER_QUERY_LIMIT

    :(

    • I got this too… used brothers address.

  • Can you delete the 'digital mailbox' after signing up? I already have an email address that I actually use.

  • I signed up last time with my Telstra account and since removed myself from it.

Given the other is available to existing customers, would I be able to re-divert my mail through this for Telstra again and also get the 2,000 points?

    • I don't know but I will be looking to do the same. Last time this deal came up David Jones was included in the providers that earn the points rewards. This time it wasn't so I have taken the opportunity to unsubscribe so I can try adding DJ again if it is included in the future.

  • Just tried linking my mygov acct and got "An unexpected error has occurred". Seems to have worked anyway!

  • Anyone know how long it takes for the points to be credited?

    • Deal details state "Velocity Points will be allocated to your Velocity Account within 10 business days from >transaction date". I added a provider last night and will be checking Friday evening to see if I have received the points. The last time this deal came up I seem to remember the turn around time being quite reasonable, probably also less than 10 days and closer to 3 or so.

    • Points were credited today for me so ~2days

      • +1

        ditto

    • Mine has been more than 3 weeks I haven't seen any points credited!

  • Is it for each provider or one time only?

  • Do Velocity points expire?

  • I already had a MyPost Digital Mailbox.
Tried adding, Westpac Altitude Black and it worked for me.
But then I realised my Velocity membership number was not registered to my account. Did it shortly afterwards. Will see if this works.

  • very limited providers… almost useless for me =)

  • Has any existing users received the bonus points?

    • I got points on my wife's account on 20 October but not mine…

      • Haven't got my points yet either.

Should we be following it up since its been more than 10 business days? With Velocity or with AusPost?

        • It took me ages to get points credited last time they did a promo. Still waiting this time too. You just have to keep hassling them :(

  • Came here to work out why I never got my points… Realised my velocity account wasn't linked, I just kind of assumed that happened automatically when signed up through them last time.

  • Haven't gotten my points, been 15 days. Never got the 1000 points from the sign-up promotion last year either :( Have filled in the online contact us form, anyone have any other contact details to enquire about this issue if I get no reponse?

    • I also haven't got a response from my email yet.

The best way to get their attention is to write them a negative tweet.

  • Finally got my points. They emailed this afternoon, I sent one back clarifying the offer, and the points were credited this afternoon some time.

    • I also got my points recently. Did not chase them up for them though.
