OzBargain Exclusive: 4.0% Cashback on eBay Sitewide @ CashRewards

7240

If you thought this was big, how about a huge 4.0% to go with the Good Guys 20% promo? In effect, you're getting 24% off your purchases, as the cashback applies to the pre-discounted amount. The offer applies to any purchase made via eBay Australia, not just Good Guys.

I'm stoked to say I was able to contact the founder & MD of CashRewards Andrew Clarke, who is one of the nicest people imaginable. I explained how we need a ripper deal to tie in with the Good Guys offer, and after a late night, we agreed on 4.0%.

Note the offer goes live at 9:00am AEDT, and the link will be updated then. Due to the overwhelming success of the deal, CashRewards has agreed to extend the offer until 11:59pm Monday Oct 19. Expiry is 11:59pm Wednesday Oct 14. Have a great day and happy shopping :)

MOD NOTE: If you are planning to post a deal mentioning this additional cashback, please state the price before any cashback is applied in the title.

Shopandmints tracking is still more reliable.

    • +3

The tracking on Cashrewards has been fine for me. I've had eBay transactions through Shopandmint. It's almost three months now and I still haven't received any cashback (showing as pending) so I stopped using it.

      • +1

My first ebay transactions through shop and mint, from when the rep first posted his store, have finally been released. I've just requested a payout. May pay for you to have another check, if they've been pending for a while now

        • +2

Actually you're right. My transactions were actually from end of August (28/08/2015 specifically). Still, it's taken quite a long time!

        • +1

They did, was starting to get worried!

    • +5

      +1 shopandmint

Plus you get informed on everything, even if you had a session where you didn't buy anything it'll show up.

With regards to ronnknee's comment, I've still got pending transactions too though. But IIRC it's 90 days wait due to paypal complaints period and that should be the same with all cashback companies?

    • Out of my 3 ebay purchases recently, One got missed with CashRewards. I have got 1 pending transactions from First choice for over 5 months and it is still showing pending.

    • +12

Sadly, even though Cashrewards usually have the highest cashback, I have found their tracking to be terrible. My last 3 transactions have not tracked, and I have never had this issue on Qwibble for example. I don't think I'll bother with Cashrewards any more.

      • +1

Agreed. Have to chase up wery purchase to date.

      • Is it not tracking or "not tracking". It must have gone somewhere?

        • +1

My guess is "not tracking" because as I said, I haven't had any trouble on other cashback sites. I am savvy with enabling cookies, clearing my cache, making sure it's the last link I click through etc so I don't think I'm doing anything wrong.

        • @lisss:

with the 15% off deal recently big big purchase did not register .. it was a cart with multiple items, my second and third (which wasn't part or the 15%deal) much smaller purchases did - they were both single items.

        • @Elijha: I've had a few big purchases, over $1000 each and none of them registered. I'm particularly careful to follow all the conditions and ensure they are valid transactions. I have dozens of 2c here and 8c there cashbacks go through, but anything that promises to give me dollars worth of cashback never seems to appear. Something really fishy going on here.

        • +1

          @endotherm: sounds a bit dodgy then…

        • @endotherm: Same here. All the smaller transactions that are a few cents always go through. Bigger transactions are conveniently lost and the one time I spent over $1200 it was missing as well. Definitely not just a coincidence.

    • +3

The minimum cashout is set to $50 on Shopandmints while it's only $10 on Cashrewards

      • +4

        big plus imo

      • Id still rather wait a long time to get the money than not get the money at all.

      • +1

Isn't it $5.01 for Cash Rewards?

    • +2

Make sure you turn off all plugins/software that may effect your cookies. This includes all Adblocking software, all Javascript stoppers and some Anti-virus.

    • I have lost faith in CashRewards. I have been waiting over THREE MONTHS for simple cashbacks.

Who knows how long this one will take.

    • +4

I bought a $9000 item through cash rewards and guess what.. Cash rewards basically said it didn't track and that I was shit out of luck.

    • +2

I have placed a total of 45 orders via CashRewards - totalling $5,149 purchase value and $133 cashback (of which Ive banked around $120).

CashRewards has never missed a single purchase.

      • Yeah, no problems here either. Sometimes the timing is a little funky (e.g. won't receive anything for 3 weeks and then about a dozen purchases all come through at once), but I can't say it's ever missed anything that wasn't my own fault (adding something to cart and buying > 24 hours later, which they specifically called out).

        • +2

For CashRewards purchases I use Internet Explorer (which is not my regular daily browser) and I clear cache/cookies before I log into CR.

I also often add the items to my cart, and then go back to CR and again click through to the store, right before purchasing, to ensure there is a fresh link right before I purchase.

        • @systmworks: On a mac, Firefox with adblockers and other addons missed a few of mine, so switched to Chrome without addons and it hasn't missed any as far as I know. Haven't tried Safari.

    Challenge accepted??

  • Awesome, good timing.

    Oh wow, impressive TA!!

  • GOOD STUFF!

  • Yeah appreciate the effort mate. Nice work

  • I'm thinking about purchasing the Lg 8kg Front Load Washer WD14024D6

    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/NEW-Lg-8kg-Front-Load-Washing-Mac…

Anybody have opinions for it or against?

    • I've had the Samsung equivalent for about 4 years and never had an issue with that, if that helps?

    • +3

Have had one for about 4 months. Very quiet and low on vibration. Does a better job of washing and in less time than the Whirlpool it replaced. The touch screen is a bit gimmicky and hard to read in low light and I worry about mixing water and fancy panels, but so far so good. LG was recommended by our repair man as one of the brands to buy.

It's quite clever that it senses the amount of water to add to the load, works out the weight and then calculates the remaining time to wash and displays it as a countdown on the panel.

    • +1

I've had an earlier version for 9 years, and apart from a warranty call out once, its still working brilliantly.

      • how was the warranty support? Was it tough to get them to respond quickly? The guys at The Good Guys store, when I was there last week, were really pushing for me to go for their 'exclusive to Good Guys' Hoover. Tried to dissuade me from LG saying the warranty support is crap.

        • +1

From memory it was 2007 and it was pretty straight forward, something failed on the motor and LG had someone out within a couple of days. The repairer had it running again within a few days. I did have to wait for a new motor to come in, but I don't remember it being that painful. Put it this way, I hadn't run out of clean underwear before it was fixed.

        • @2dogs: Thanks! :-D

    • +1

I have had a LG 2-in-1 since 2005 and it is still going strong without a single maintenance/repair call-out. Simply put, it has seen me through single life to family life.

Made a choice to stop using the Dryer function 5 years ago after we moved from apartment to house because 1) we got a standalone dryer and 2) we finally have a backyard to dry our clothes.

I would recommend an LG washing machine any day.

    • +1

Our LG front loader has been going for about 7 years now, and cops a hiding due to kids and daily use. Apart from the door seal wearing at one point and leaking (a replacement genuine seal was about $50 and took half an hour to fit) the machine just goes and goes. It will eventually be replaced with another LG, that's for sure.

  • Hopefully the bad guys didn't mark up the price by 10 % before giving you 20% off.

    • Just ordered the LG 8Kg washer - originally priced at $1095 (same as JB, Harvey Norman, etc). Got the 20% discount with final price at $876. Hopefully cashrewards will be nice enough to bring in the extra 4% sooner rather than in 3 months.

    • Sorry, meant to vote +1!

  • -6

Nice of CR to offer an additional 1.5% but how is this "OzBargain Exclusive" if it's available to all CR members?

    • +26

The extra 1.5% would not have been available to anyone if not negotiated by an OzB member. And because you saw it first here on OzB, it's an OzB exclusive, even though everyone can now take advantage of it.

      • +1

        TA, you are the champ!

      • Some sensitive souls about today.

        • +2

How about posting deals yourself rather than just criticizing those who put in hard work to make this site a success?

        • +1

          @team teri:

It was a question not a criticism.

I understand that there are plenty of people out there who are much more sensitive than myself and I try to take that into account but this is an internet forum and the intended meaning doesn't always come across. Try not to take it too personally champ.

        • @OzBragain: Your original question, yes. While somewhat unnecessary since it does not add anything of value to this offer it can be asked of course.

Your reply was as hominem though. Maybe I am a tad too sensitive myself?

        • @team teri:

While somewhat unnecessary since it does not add anything of value to this offer it can be asked of course.

Value to you and value to others will not always be the same.

Your reply was as hominem [sic] though.

As was yours…and yet I didn't whine about it. Try not to take yourself (or me) too seriously, you'll live longer :D

        • +1

          @OzBragain:

What is the value in discussing the term "Ozbargain Exclusive"? It's completely unnecessary nitpicking.

The reason I care is that I don't want other major contributors to follow theearth and give up on this community. We'd all lose out if that was to happen.

If you were to leave, I don't think I would notice. So yes, I don't mind being a bit ad hominem by pointing out he fact that you don't post all that many deals…

        • -1

          @team teri:

What is the value in discussing the term "Ozbargain Exclusive"?

None, it's a question that's been answered and is now left alone.

The reason I care is that I don't want other major contributors to follow theearth and give up on this community.

Someone who packs his bat and ball because a mod fixes up some punctuation and grammar is a little too thin skinned and needy to be hanging around forums in my opinion.

If you were to leave, I don't think I would notice.

Buddy, I couldn't care less if some random on the internet noticed me or not. I asked a question, coprocessor left his ego at the door gave a decent response.

I've got a wife who would be only too happy to oblige if I was after never ending argument. I've participated in enough unnecessary nitpicking for today

        • @OzBragain: Well, don't start the nitpicking next time, or just know when to stop.

You only got my attention when you used the term 'sensitive soul', which took things from discussing facts to discussing people.

I for my part miss theearth and would love it if thin skinned people of all kinds could contribute here without getting hurt. There are plenty of other forums where they can't.

        • Fair scrutiny on ozbargain is as helpful as. No probs. +1

    • The deal is 'Exclusively announced at OzBargain site'. It didn't say 'available exclusively to Ozbargainers'.

      • Fair enough but didn't say 'Exclusively announced at OzBargain site' either. Not the way I interpreted the title but I can see how it can be read both ways.

buy the same product for the discounted price. Return the new product with the old receipt ?

      • +1

It's a book and not worth it. I would save like 2 cents then spend more on return postage.
        Thank you anyway.

        • +1

Paypal offers free returns on ebay purchases, if it was bought there.

        • @payton:

I forgot about that thank you.
But the difference is $0.23 exactly.

    • +5

I see your yesterday and raise you a this morning at 8am.

    • +1

I spent about $360 on eBay yesterday - dammit!

      • What did you buy?

I bought a book for just under $16.

  • +1

Can this be used in conjunction with the $50 voucher from ebay? Not sure if ebay allows to enter two promo code at the same time.

    • +1

It did not work with DSE 30% off. Not sure with this one.

      • have to disagree on this one, it tracked no problem with the dicksmith 30% for me.

        • Are you talking about tracking of the cashback? Or doubling up with a 20%/30% promo code and using an eBay $50 voucher at the same time?

Yes cashback via CashRewards will work.
No you cannot use a 20% / 30% promo code and $50 eBay voucher code at the same time - you can only enter a single promo code at checkout, I believe.

        • @systmworks:

True, It works with cashback but not the $50 eBay voucher.

  • This dude rocks!!
