    +1 from me

We had stocked up on the 2 for 1 iTunes cards over the years https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/188678 and have a decent iTunes balance. We called Netflix customer service to see if they could change us to iTunes billing. Was told to cancel our Netflix subscription and to sign up again via the iPad to get billed from iTunes credit and would even get the 30 days free again using the same email.

    • seems like as soon as Netflix launched they stopped the 241 sales though.

      • Yeah I haven't seen a 241 sale in a while BUT I think it's more linked in with Apple Music than Netflix?

    • Hmm just tried this mate. Gives me the error that the email is already active. I've cancelled subscription but it's active till next membership. Is there anything more I need to do before trying to sign up from Netflix app in ios?

      Thanks in advance.

      • We are also waiting for our existing subscription to expire

  • Is foxtel dead yet?

    • +4

      Foxtel is a rip off

      • +7

How's your live sport on Netflix.

        • Yeah, fair enough - But Foxtel for Hollywood Entertainment (Movies & TV Show Content) is very pricey compared to the competing streaming services.

Also as you may be aware there is plenty of good live HD streams of "popular" international sport (I watched Patriots Vs Cowboys today in 1080i for free, live - even with American ad's) NFL is pretty much the only sport I watch. But I imagine that Foxtel hold the monopoly on Australian sports and "not-so popular" international sports, so unless a great streaming service enters this space Foxtel will be king in this area, as for other content…their ship is has sailed!

  • Hey EC, i think you have lost a few friends tonight - this is a bottom of the barrel 'bargain' and you have firther embarrassed youself with your sense of entitlement.

For those who missed it, check the thread out the collapsed thread for being off topic by cristobaljames at the top of the page - its worth a read, if only for the lols.

As you yourself said EC, " dude, get over yourself"

      • -1

Dude…you are the one who sits on the net all day posting bargains in hope of getting a monthly prize…seriously, it sounds like you are talking from personal experience in this little rant…lol

        • -5

          Incorrect again.

I was at the gym while i was replying to your useless comments earlier between my sets

Now im sitting in the balcony with my friends having a hubbly bubbly while we laugh at your silly replies.

Thanks for making our evening lol

        • +12

@easternculture: so you and you friends are having a fun night sitting around reading ozbargain comments? Lol….either you need better friends or you are outright lying!

        • @easternculture: no i got plenty of friends…. None of which i spend time with reading internet comments with.

Are all your buddies making excuses to leave while you are showing them what a kingpin you are on Ozbargain?

        • @pointless comment:

no i got plenty of friends

          Yep .. ok no worries

        • @pointless comment: hahahah this is gold, good work pointless comments. These King pins of quantity need to be called out more often.

        • +1

@easternculture: that the best you could come back with…. Seriously , dude get over yourself.

Maybe you and all your buddies with the bubbly on the balcony can have a debate over quality vs quantity?

Obvioulsy you are a fan of the latter, what do your many real life friends think?

        • @pointless comment:

what do your many real life friends think?

About you? well, If i told you, i probably would be sent to the penalty box. But its their opinion and each to their own

        • +1

@easternculture: no obviously i am referring to the quantity vs quality debate.

I could not care less about what your 'real life' friends, be they real or imaginary, think about me.

        • +5

@easternculture: Your friends are impressed with how much bargains you find?

        • +5

@gamechanger: it's pointless calling them out though. The same sheep vote for their deals every time. Just look at TA deals, it's the same people who get it to the front page. He claims he's here to help people when really it's the $2000 he earnt last year. Now he just farms other deal forums/whirlpool and various price trackers to repost their deals for monetary incentive. He also asked me once in a pm why I negged his comment. I don't think he is genuine at all, at least EC responds to people with differing views.

        • +4

@gamechanger: him and all his many, many real life friends are chilling on the balcony, drinking bubbly reading ozbargain comments - these are his words not mine!

If hes telling the truth, which is dubious at best, they obviously arent a hard crowd to please.

Theyll probaly cap off the night watching trees grow

        • +5

@ShamelessBargains: Absolutely true! TA is hailed as King on here, but he is motivated by monetary gain. He keeps his image clean that's why people don't see through him.

        • +2

@pointless comment: trying to visualise, absolutely hilarious. Sunday night, Ozbargain and chilling.

        • -1

          @ShamelessBargains:

The same sheep vote for their deals every time

You just insulted a few hundred ozbargainers . Shame on you .

          Surprisingly, your true colors show.

        • +2

@ShamelessBargains: I agree with you, but i reckon TA actually puts in a bit of work. $2000 is nothing for the time it takes for the volume he does. And his demeanour is always jovial and pleasant.

EC tries so hard - he even complained once about the monthly prize system! His demeanour is surly and sarcastic. He berates other deals in hypocritical fashion, and takes it very, very personally if you dont like his deal - even when its an obvious rehash or referral credit miner - look at the abuse he has pointed towards me today …and albeit ironically, i actually upvoted him!

        • @easternculture: im one of the sheep who vote for TA.

          Not offended.

Shame on you for another bottom of the barrel post, and being so disrespectful to so many ozbargainers - look at all the negs you have collected here!

          Dude, get over yourself.

        • -2

          @pointless comment:

look at all the negs you have collected here

yay. Now i can compete with jv

yay .. yay .. maybe ill get that monthly prize you've been bragging about for the number of negative votes … yipeeeeee

        • +2

@easternculture: youve actually managed to embarrass yourself even more with that childish post.

Did all your buddies on the balcony drinking bubbly like that one?

Did you come up with that retort all by yourself, or was it a team effort?

        • @pointless comment: Maybe EC is JV? Plot twist haha

        • @ShamelessBargains: lol wouldn't surprise me.

        • Enough is enough. Have your "discussions" over PM.

This is a deal about Netflix and not about attacking each other and other members of this site. The blatant accusations are frankly disrespectful. If you want to have a discussion about OzBargain's guidelines do so in the site discussion forum or a private conversation in the Talk with a Moderator forum.

Consider this the first and only warning.

        • @neil: too much banter, and none of it about the bargain!

  • I already signed up with Netflix. How do I switch my payment to iTunes? Do i cancel my current subscription then re-sign via IOS?

  • Just a reminder.

This is a deal about Netflix and not about attacking each other and other members of this site. We ask that you please be respectful to others and follow our commenting guidelines.

  • Thanks OP, I didn't know that Apple have finally opened up registrations on idevices.
Regarding other discussions, I think we are a site where individuals do excellent work and get the Ozbargain community true gems in terms of deals so I have respect for all of you weather you get me a deal on a $0.01 pen or a Hyundai car. I sometimes value the community members opinion than my partner which always get me in the soup but it gives me a warm fuzzy feeling about it.

Everybody is different and that's what makes this community unique. Many would have preferred if somebody could have posted some hacks to get cheap itunes cards than what we have seen in this post.

    Love Ozbargain!

  • +1 so I can remember to use my 5 negatives a day!

  • where the cheapest place for iTunes gift cards at the moment

    • target or office works 20% off

  • +4

Wow, so many people in this thread have completely missed the point… although to be fair I didn't see the post prior to it been edited by the OP.

The bargain here is related to how Netflix is billed. Previously, it was only possible to have Netflix billed through iTunes when signing up via AppleTV. Now it can be done through all iDevices, which opens it up to more people been able to use iTunes gift vouchers purchased at a discount to lower their Netflix subscription rate.

  • +3

Not really a deal if it's always been available.

  • +2

If existing customers can pay through iTunes gift card then it's great….
20% discounted Netflix subscription deal to me….

  • I just wanted to clarify, if you're using the US Netflix then won't this deal only work with US iTunes cards as well?

  • This is a repost. Not a deal.

  • I have a question??

Is it possible to register for the free one month subscription and cancel when its finished and then use another email to sign up for another free one month subscription and keep doing that for as long as you can?

    anyone tries it?

and also some people are selling shared netflix account for a fraction of the cost ? is it worth it?

    • +1

Yes you can in theory, however you'll need a new credit card number for each account you start… only one trial per card.

      • Oh I see …. Thank you!!

  • Can you use a prepaid VISA for the trial?

    • +1

      Yep should work fine.
