Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream: Choc Fudge Brownie 458ml $2.99 @ Spudshed (Innaloo WA)

340

Hi all as stated in title

There was a post a little while back with the same deal but it's marked as expired

Image shown in link is photo I took last night, still plenty of stock remaining however only the chocolate Fudge Brownie flavour

Please also note if you are particular about your ice creams storage temps you will notice the freezer at spudshed has frozen the ice cream to the point where it's over frozen… The Brownie is rock hard and some of the ice cream is iced over, so keep that in mind (I prefer only buying from b&j fridges only when I can help it)

Limit of 4 per family

Have fun

  • How do they cover that T&C - Limit of 4 per family?

    • They have notices at the counter advising the clerk will not allow the purchase of more than four per transaction and I think they keep an eye on anyone who many get their children to line up behind them with it

      • Jandakot is 8 per family.

      • They don't have "clerks" behind counters or cash registers here in Australia. They're cashiers, or Drones, Droids, Dudes or Kylies.

It was a limit if eight when I bought some on friday. This was at jandakot. The brownie pieces seem dry.

In regards to limiting, the cashiers generally seem switched on, I would imagine they would say something. Spud she'd is not your normal grocery store.

Got some from NQR and have to agree, the brownie pieces are dry and it just doesn't taste the same.

      • Do you reckon it has deteriorated or if it is always that way?

        • I can't really tell as it isn't my choice of flavour generally….but the ones sold at NQR here did advertise brownies overdone batch…..so don't know how far that is true.

        • I got some from NQR last week. The advertising flyer that had them with a small note saying "We overbaked the brownies, still good though!" so i'm guessing the manufacturer did indeed overbake the brownie pieces that go in, therefore making it drier than normal.

        • I don't recall seeing any notice if burnt brownies at the shed. I wonder if they found out about it later and that's why these are on soecial. Very disappointed in this. I would have bought one to try if I had known this was the case. I now have an ice cream maker with compressor and wouldn't have bought all these if I knew they were stuffed.

        • @voteoften: We're in the same boat, purchased 5 tubs thinking they'd be a sellout and while the ice cream is nice enough the brownie bits aren't what I expected to be eating. Ignored the overdone part as I thought this was B&J's way of getting rid of ice cream close to expiry at half price as mine are stamped 21.10.15

And little wonder then that after restocking this week, the ice cream isn't flying off the shelves like last week at the local NQR.

There's some funny places in W.A. One place is called Cockburn (supposedly pronounced Co-burn, but I always say "Cock Burn") I once saw a removals van that said "Cockburn removals". I didn't know removalists offered medical services. :-p

      • +1

        Just like UK.

There's a Cockburn there, as well as Cockshot Point, Pity Me and No Place - loads of 'em.

      • +1

Haha I go to Cockburn to do my shopping sometimes, there's a huge new mall there… there's also Cockburn Cement. There's also a place called Woop Woop!

Wonder if you get any problems with burns in the loo's there.

        • Cockburn Central is it's name. lol (It's a bitch of a place to get in and out of during peek hour) I wonder if the local chemist gets tired with Cock Burn jokes. :-p

      • In Darwin there is a suburb called Fannie Bay, in that suburb the main road is called Dick Ward Drive.

sad ozb story to share. went at midnight to score 6 of these when the deal was first posted. took a wrong turn and went the long way, got impatient as I had work tomorrow and went a tad above the speed limit as I wanted to get home to sleep asap. Got fined $200 for speeding. ice cream was good but overall experience was 0/10, would not recommend.

    • Was that from the fixed cam on the freeway?

I didn't think they used mobile cameras after midnight?

I feel your pain, the same thing has happen to me before chasing an ozb special…well not at midnight :)

      • it was a traffic light cam.

Ben and Jerry's ice cream is way too sweet. Not even good. The hype is lost on me.

    • Yes, very sweet

  • Off the topic, but noticed advert on top of this page Stevia 500gm for $30. Everyday price at Chemist Warehouse is only $6.99 for 250gm.

  • Connoisseur is better.
