This is the new version of EF 50mm Prime lens from Canon, improvements over the older EF 50mm f/1.8 II are:
- Metal mount
- 7 aperture blades (rounded Bokeh!)
- STM focusing (smooth, near silent)
- super spectra lens coating

      It's a good cheap portrait lens, not something you can really use day to day

      Creates great photos, got the one above it the 1.4

  I recommend you get one at this price, good low light and walk about lens if you have room.
  Takes good shots of close up objects and bokeh is good.
