So looking at nexus player on google shopping add to cart i noticed you can pay with "play store balance". Is it possible to add your telstra pre paid base cred to the store?

if you do enough surveys you might be able to buy one for free!
maybe after 20 years of surveys…google play credit cannot be used for purchases of hardware like phones of the nexus player.
but it seems u can, go to nexus 9, place on in card, when u select payment options, google credit can be selected (insufficient funds though)
I get a lot of "have you been to woolworths, anz etc and what day and rating. If you give a low rating you'll get more money

No, Telstra prepaid credit and Google Play credit is completely non-convertible. You cannot convert one form of credit to another.
Though you can purchase games, movies and music using Telstra credit, your Google Play balance remains at whatever it was before and after any transactions (i.e the Play credit is not touched)
