Hey guys planning to go London next year. Ticket is going for about 1,500. I'm getting mix review regards to this airline, has anyone used them before? I read an article that they have won best airline but on product review website they have very poor reviews 2/5. I did see Emirates for 1,600 should I go with them instead.

Qatar Airways are arguably as good, but probably better than Emirates. Ignore airline review websites, 90% of the people who write reviews on those sites have only bad experiences, you will never hear the majority of people who had a great flight but won't write anything.
That's true, but it's 9 abreast in economy on their 787 which very tight by industry standards.
Yup, but they don't send the 787 to Australia I think. Could stand to be corrected, but think we only get the 777 at the moment. Their fitout is 9 abreast in economy for the 777, compared to 10 abreast on Emirates.
Doha -> London could be 787, but also could be A380, A330 or 777 depending on the flight number!

Try using Kayak.com (or other) in multi city mode.
What month ?
Qatar is a dry airline if that worries you.
Qatar Airlines is very highly rated for economy actually, certainly better than Emirates (don't know why people think their economy is any better than others) and would give Etihad a run for their money.
Doha airport is a bit crap, but Dubai is extremely overcrowded. Can't speak for Abu Dhabi.
Check iwantthatflight. They often have inexpensive fares 1100-1200 return.
