  • Wow, that was quick! Thanks for the fast ordering OzBargainers!

    • +1

I notice you have 123 people subscribed to your deals so there's probably a few that get the emails that notify them that you have posted a deal again and instantly order if it's something they like as they know the price will be good.

      • +1

Yes, I think you're right about that. But the few seconds between posting the deals and the orders still freaks me out every time! At least on OzBargain we know we're giving the people what they want, because nobody, and I mean nobody buys on OzBargain unless the price is spot on, which is why we work so hard to get it right.

  • Did it only take 6 minutes to sell out? I call shenanigans

    • Not sold out, I was thanking people for ordering so quickly. Although some of our deals have sold out pretty fast in the past, not this fast! But just in case you're having trouble…can someone confirm that the code is still working for everyone please?

      • Have now confirmed not sold out (yet)! And coupon code seems to be working. Speaking of selling quickly, and delivering quickly too, I remember one guy who got his order within 20 minutes of ordering. That one was hard to forget! But if you're having any trouble at all…just PM me and I'll help you myself or refer you to someone better. Or you can chat with our friendly monkeys on sellingoutsoon site.

I love how you guys ignore australian consumer law.

    • -2

      No, which (exact) law?

      • +1

you need to to go look up refunds and exchange laws it's pretty basic stuff.

My favourite one is unacceptable quality and not fit for purpose as you don't get to decide it, so if a customer decides a refund under those circumstances you have no choice but to refund.

        • -3

No, maybe you do, pehaps benefit from more real-life experience over opinion. This is not about anybody's emotions, but correct interpretation of facts. It's not my job to discuss law. Maybe call the Department of Fair Trade? Perhaps ask them to attest to the veracity of your assertions, exactly as you've written; you may get a different response then you're expecting.

        • +1

@sellingoutsoon: I love your condescending attitude.

Oh i've been caught lying, but I know more than you I have experience blah blah blah trail off.

Oh i've been caught misrepresenting something, let me bignote myself and try and belittle anyone in a hope that I make enough of a big deal that it looks like tall poppy syndrome.

How about we just look at facts.

You aren't a laywer, but you should know basic consumer rights as a business, you are trying to sound like you do but based on what's written above, you don't that is a fact.

You also got the wrong department…

          read this : https://www.accc.gov.au/consumers/consumer-rights-guarantees…

          and this : http://www.consumerlaw.gov.au/content/Content.aspx?doc=acl_r…

or you know take the easy option and watch this :

          https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uE8BB-ioNRw

Jullian Morrow would tear your business practices to shreds.

It's no emotion mate, it's just basic law, have a nice day.

        • -3

@acex1138: No, not a lay-wer (nobody is a laywer), and not a business either, merely a humble rep, which doesn't mean I should accept bullying by incongruous banter, or inobjective treatment of the subject matter from someone unqualified. It happens every time someone questions you…no offence..but aren't you being too emotional for someone trying to accuse something falsely and inaccurately?

(PS - About first names: Using a publically proffered first name (regardless of whether it has been henceforth deleted, or not) complies with OzBargain commenting guidelines (clearly stating that surnames are not to be used, first names are not disallowed.)

        • +2

@sellingoutsoon: You're so petty that you have to resort to spelling mistakes as an argument? Geez.

        • -3

@Venom_TAG: Thank you darling. But whether I'm pretty or not is subjective, and not necessarily relevant.

  • +3

Pretty good price. There's also a US version available at play-asia for USD 19.99 + 4.99 delivery (~AUD 35 delivered), but faster delivery is worth a few dollars more I guess.

    • +1

      Play asia : " 5 to 14 days". Selling out soon : "5-12 days"
Plus at play-asia it's not just on special for one day…

      • +3

Yet in reality you will receive from Play Asia in 14 days (probably business days) and from Selling out soon in less than 5 days.

      • Let's look at this invalid vote carefully, and respectfully. I expect the same in return, notwithstanding what has happened before from Venom_TAG against valid, in many cases excellent deals.

        1. Importantly, this deal is the lowest price of any authorised dealer in the world for the PAL version. Buyers know this, which is why they're buying it. OzBargainers are not stupid.
        2. The item referred to is a different product, the US version which was not advertised.
        3. When the special is on, or not is not really relevant. The deal can only be what was advertised, not what wasn't.
        4. In addition, 5-14 days is more than 5-12 days.

The OzBargain community is bigger and smarter than negative comments, but the 4 reasons above are pertinent in the assessment of the deal and are provided to clarify the facts.

        • -4

Addressing 1. and 2. "OzBargainers are not stupid". Exactly, people know regardless that the NTSC product is essentially the same game. This pal version is still not AUS stock.
          3. It is relevant when the other places have this at a regular lower price.
          4. "In addition, 5-14 days is more than 5-12 days." Well not if it's received before 12 days.

"The OzBargain community is bigger and smarter than negative comments" then why do you try and belittle me?

        • +1

@Venom_TAG: I agree that this isn't the Aus PAL version (unfortuntely) and literally no difference to the US version. But the shipping from selling out soon has been exceptional in the past and very good customer service.

        • @Venom_TAG: No, sorry, but they're still $12.23 more, which is not even close to our low price, and the other one is still not the same product as advertised here. You're not being spoken down to, just answered with reason over emotion.

        • +1

@sellingoutsoon: I did not debate whether the prices you presented in your deal were $12.23 more.

        • +1

Quite curious why you put in "Amazon US $41.60 (US version)" in your description then..
To be fair, if you're talking about the specific product, sure yours is a few dollars cheaper than the next advertised price, which is OZGameshop $41.98. But if we're just talking purely about the game, then I wouldn't say that yours is the "best alternative pricing", as the fact check has proven otherwise.

        • @equavate: Aha, that's a logically sound argument. You'd be right. We didn't know about the Canadian one at the time of listing. We don't know the Canadian seller, and haven't heard of them before. They may be bonafide. We haven't checked them out yet. But we're definitely selling the PAL product. People may rightfully expect Amazon on a comparison list, but not all will know about regions, and what that may or may not entail. This is an issue buyers face every day, as not everyone is a gamer. Yet every buyer has to start somewhere, so we attempt to provide the closest to optimal mix of information we can at the time of listing, which requires thinking of a myriad of factors. For anyone to get most of it right, is a minor miracle. Even the length of the listings have been a matter of discussion internally. As Steve Jobs (and others) said: "You can please some of the people, some of the time…" :)

        • -1

@sellingoutsoon: Equavate brings up a good point. And as per looking at your revisions on the deal you changed the deal to reflect it being for specifically the pal version copy after two comments about it being cheaper elsewhere , that is why Amazon US was initially quoted.
          How deceptive.

        • -2

          @Venom_TAG:

(OP) reserves the right to change or end this promotion early, for any reason, with no prior notice.

As usual, there is no malice from us, just clarification. If you like drama, can you please do it somewhere else, because clearly people aren't enjoying it here, which is why they are negging you. No offence, please just let it go, you got some prices wrong on some other deals which maybe you could have checked before posting, but everybody makes mistakes, being humble enough to admit them would be cool, but nobody can force you. Anyway, we're not holding a grudge, if you don't either, that would be cool too.

$27.50 Canadian ($29.56 AUD) from Videogameplus Canada.
    https://www.videogamesplus.ca/the-book-unwritten-tales-ps4-p…

    • +2

NTSC version vs UK PAL version (as that matters to some). Does that price include shipping?

      • +1

NTSC still works on AUS PS4, so really depends on what rating stick you want. And yes shipping included in that total.

        • +1

Yes. Unfortunately if you want any dlc you will require a US PSN account for the NTSC game. Much easier to just stick to the Aus PAL version and avoid any complications or stick to all NTSC or have multiple region accounts.

        • +1

@paulransom81: yes but this game doesn't have dlc.

        • @Venom_TAG: yes you are right, currently that is correct.

  • -1

Actually it is a fair question, but not a valid negative vote. Because if one looks carefully, even if the product does the same thing, the comment is on a different product to the one advertised here. Advertised is the PAL version, not the US version. Although the game itself may be region free, the US release is not the same as the Day One PAL release, nor may it have the same documentation. The US version may weigh less if the manual is different and has less content. In any case, we have not advertised the US version, so the pricing for the US/Canadian version is not valid because it is for a different product.

Shipping to Australia of the US game from the Canadian supplier:

    • $7.28 Airmail (no tracking, no insurance)
    • $12.13 Airmail (with tracking)
    • $48.57 DHL express or Fedex priority

So the different product can become potentially a lot more expensive if you want to guarantee you'll get it. Our warehouse provides proof of shipment from Australia and also our tracking includes insurance, is cheaper, probably quicker, and we're Australian. Some of that may mean something to the buyers who buy. But if others don't want to, that's OK too, it's a free country (nearly) :)

    • +1

Well even with shipping with tracking it is still $4 cheaper.

      • -3

        Different product.

        • +3

Same game on disc, same instruction manual, same case.
          Different rating system.

        • -1

@Venom_TAG: most likely different manual, as mentioned. And US titles are most often manufactured in different countries. A lot of things are and also could be different. But even if they were exactly the same (they're not, depending on how much detail is really necessary) it's still a different product.

          Brand new PAL version

Your comment is for a different product

Authentic PAL stock (boxed, genuine Day One Release) for PS4

Your comment is for a different product. And the US version is not Day One PAL either.

In addition, the advertised deal is the original PAL version, developed by a PAL-region developer, it's not even a US-based game.

Sorry to offend you, but if you were right, I'd agree with you, yet it's clearly and provably different. Otherwise it would be the same and there would be nothing to discuss.

Which brings me to the real point….

Let's be super-honest mate, the only reason you said anything here at all is because you made pricing comments about two of our recent deals, and were proven wrong on both occasions, and now it's a case of what Australians used to call <insert accent from The Castle here> "sour grapes" . Maybe take some advice from Frozen?: "Let it go…let it go…." la la la la la la…. Does anybody else love that song screamed from the back of the car by the neighbours' four kids as much as I do?

        • +2

          @sellingoutsoon:
Well no I wasn't wrong on two different occasions but anyway I've only said things on your deals recently because you have many other deals like The Crew, Zone of Enders, Snake Eater, Cubic Ninja, the variety of dancing games, Avengers, etc, that are not deals because they are either overpriced or can be found cheaper within stores.

You do have some great deals, no doubt, but other times you don't and obviously the community will call you out on that.

        • @Venom_TAG: No, actually, that is blatantly inaccurate.

You see, you were wrong about the:

          • $310 price which we sell for $287, and
          • here too and some viewed it as this guy said.
          • In terms of The Crew for Xbox 360, it was the best deal, as proven on the deal. I don't recall anyone arguing that, at all. Don't bother doing it now, it's weeks ago: the dynamics of the market may have changed. You can see the price comparisons, in great detail on the listing.
          • Avengers for Xbox 360 was the lowest price too. There was a claim of $5 at a retail store, but they couldn't supply any stock from any of their (large amount of) stores…. But to be willing to be proven wrong… I offered a prize to anybody who could get one for us. Nobody wanted the cash. It has been suggested that some retailers put $5 and $10 prices on things they no longer sell. Which would be akin to us advertising The Witcher III for $17 delivered (a title we do not currently sell) but then adding a footnote "sold out". A nice trick perhaps, but we don't do it. I wouldn't buy from those who do. Maybe I'm an idealist.

You've mentioned a few deals, but we've posted 44 usually amazing deals. Not every single one was the best idea in retrospect (despite being the lowest price at the time) so when things didn't turn out, we went to the buyers and asked advice. Humbly.

Now our deals are now very well researched, for the betterment of OzBargainers. Nearly everything we do on OzBargain is exclusive to OzBargainers. I call that commitment.
        • +1

          @sellingoutsoon:
"$310 price which we sell for $287" I was just listing a student price I saw on student discounts for those that may be students, you didn't have the student price in your deal when i commented.

"here too and some viewed it as this guy said." I don't know how I was wrong about the Rayman deal, you said the lowest price for a steam copy was $9.99, and i told you it was cheaper on humble.

"Avengers for Xbox 360 was the lowest price too." So you're calling the few people and the guy that works at jb hifi, that said it is instore for that price liars?

Honestly you're a good customer rep, but you are way too defensive when people post cheaper prices or have a different opinion. Remember I have only negged this one deal.

        • -1

          @Venom_TAG:

          we sell for $287

Yes, obviously you got that one wrong. Not talking down to you, maybe just fact check on our site before claiming we don't do something, that we do.

          Rayman deal

Humble showed different prices to different regions, but it is what it is. Re-read the whole thread, if you have time. And we were in $AU and also cheaper than $9.99 anyway, for a delivered Australian item…

          Avengers

Read the whole thread if you have time. Again, they had no saleable stock in any store (apparently some unsaleable ones), we had someone check with head office. So we were the lowest price on unstickered, unreturned, Day One Release, brand new and sealed, perfect Australian stock, delivered.

          The neg

Well, you shouldn't have negged this deal, because we're selling the PAL version, with a different barcode to the US version. Anyone can have an opinion about this (see what I wrote in detail) but you're not the manufacturer, and neither are we (in this case) so perhaps the onus should be on the actual maker of the game as to whether to say it's different, by providing a different barcode? If we're nitpicking, this is the epitome of accuracy.

Do you want to incentivise us to make things cheap for you, or not?

Moreover, it's easy to press the neg button, because you didn't do any real work. What takes commitment and effort is the enormous amount of work we do trying to bring the sharpest possible deals in Australia (and often the world) to OzBargainers. So if you make it hard for us, on purpose, you're providing incentive for us to utilise other avenues to procure customers who spend more. In the end it's the same for us (except for the fact that I personally like OzBargain) in that we either do it as cheap as possible for a lot of serious no-nonsense buyers who act instantly, or we spend money marketing to people who aren't as price sensitive, and provide awesome service either way. The end result is the same, in my experience. I don't know what other people here think…would they rather get these deals from an Aussie company who provides rather excellent service, or not?

  • +2

Totally agree with your comments. Thanks for posting the deal. Keep them coming.

  • +3

I like some of your posts OP, but stating a saving of $51…seems a bit ridiculous as no ozbargainer in its sane mind will ever consider purchasing a regular game for $90… Instead it will be better to just compare the savings from the previous cheapest place (Ozgameshop and say a saving of $3-$4)

    • +1

Yes. although the other price is our normal price, I can see that as a reasonable suggestion, thanks.

  • +1

Has anyone that ordered this had their copy arrive or shipped?

Mine's stuck on "awaiting fulfillment" for the 3rd day now… does it take days to stick it in an envelope and post it?

At this rate, it would have been faster (and cheaper if I factor in Player Points) to order it from OzGameShop in the UK.

It's my first time ordering from SellingOutSoon so i've got no idea how reliable they are. Not a good first impression though!

    • Hi Graffin :) I'll be happy to help you with that. It does very from deal to deal, so in the interest of serving you better, we are always very careful to articulate in great detail exactly what you can rightfully expect. We are completely reliable in doing exactly what we say we will do, which at times may differ from what others do, or think we should do. So please refer to what the deal says in relation to availability, or see it on the item on the site, because it is detailed there and that is exactly what you can expect to happen. Cheers :)

      • ^vary, not very (gotta love autocorrect!)

      • +1

My bad for not reading the availability/everything on the site. I just blindly assumed being an Australian business with stock available and on hand, it would be posted within a day or two at most.

I get orders from OzGameShop within 7-9 days (not working days, actual days), so it's kinda disappointing that it takes just as long, if not longer to get the same product from Sydney. Can you sorta see my point?

Anyway, if the customer service and prices are good, i'll definitely buy from you guys again. Cheers!

        • Yes, it does vary due to a variety of factors. You'll find us to be tremendously consistent and forthright. See our other deals on OzBargain!

  • BUYER UPDATE Just got word that everything is on schedule. I know we're usually much faster than agreed, in this case it is expected delivery will be within the time frame stipulated in the deal. Thank you.
