This may be good, but for the stuff i'm after, it always seems to be cheaper at Dans. One time they had this sale I asked how much for a slab of Carlton Draught after discount and they sold me ~$35. And this was around two years ago.
It really differs, I've got it cheaper at both stores before. It's cheaper than Dan's usual prices, but if Dan has it on special it's probably cheaper than BWS.
Anyone know if this will include Strongbow?? Its sorta like bier.
Call them and ask.
Hi Robbo.
I think it would include Strongbow. From the page http://www.beerwinespirits.com.au/beer-newsvic.html: "20% off Beer sale also includes Cider".
Cheers.
robbotheyobbo, u must be a chic if your drinkin strongbow. harden up if ur a bloke.

Dan Murphy's will pricematch…….with some conditions……
Price Guarantee

- Advertisements must be current and items identical.
- Competitor must have stock available in quantity requested.
- Competitors' premises must be within 10km of our store.
- Competitors' conditions may apply. Ie. Payment type, location, freight, etc.

- We reserve the right to limit sales to retail quantities.
That's a pretty standard price match policy.
And 'We reserve the right to limit sales to retail quantities.' is so when Dan's/BWS etc have big specials like so, the independent stores can't come in and buy 2-3 pallets at less than their regular cost price and then sell those the next couple of weeks undercutting the full prices.
indeed…..i guess it just means that if you have a Dan Murphy's near, you can avail yourself of anyone else's specials at the time….
I usually buy a carton of Coronas for $50 at the Indooroopilly QLD BWS and then I saw the 20% off sale and the Coronas is now something like $49.50 a carton with the 20% off. Seems like they just jack up the prices then take 20% off.
Really, that's odd. I don't reckon that's the norm. Is that the BWS inside the shopping centre?
I do know that BWS had a good price on Sol recently, $40 a carton. And now it's showing $36.80, $9.20 off. So that checks out, i believe that $46 is the regular price.
I bought a 6 pack last night for $10 with the Beer of the Month voucher. Nice beer. They (government tax?) increase beer prices last year, I used to buy a carton of 30 VB at $35, now…$50?
It's like Harvey Norman, their usual selling price is less than RRP, then when its sales time they put it up to RRP then calculate the % off that, even though their "special" is what they usually sell it for anyway.
I imagine this is a good price for some beers, Cartlon Mid is $35 or something at BWS on special, I got one a few months back for $30 at Dan's… so that's not a great price. These platinums though are always much more expensive the same with Becks etc, the specials are good on them.
Becks for $36 is an awesome price. It's rare I see it under $40.
Add to that my extra 5% for staff discount that'll take it under $35. Think I'll buy a few.On the whole BWS Vs Dan's, funny thing is they usually double up on a lot of the same specials due to Woolworths bulk buying (both are Woolworths companies) but thanks to my staff discount (can't use it at dans) and a local BWS bottle-o I'll usually opt for BWS.
just for reference, it is 20% of all cartons(24) and blocks(30)
a slab is a carton…Something like that. I just drink it, not read the packaging!
I totally agree with Rochow. The prices are great considering Tooheys Extra Dry Platinum is close too two standard drinks & it's usual price is $54.
Don't love the taste as much as others, but when I want some effect it packs "bang for buck": 43 standard drinks in a carton lol. Most bottles of spirits go for $30 and are only ~20 standard drinks each (not even counting mixers). Wine is the cheapest but blah! A lot less bloat then trying to drink mid strengths, a 6 pack is equivalent to almost 12 normal beers.
It's 6.5% - I'll have to give that one a go. I like your "bang for buck" thinking.
Extremly nice beer and in my opinion the best of the 'mass produced' beers put out by either CUB or Lion Nathan.
Very crisp and perfect in this warmer weather.
Thanks. Tooheys new 30 cans for $36. Got 4 cartons
Good price, Tooheys New is pretty good usual Dan's price is $35-$40 for 24 bottles.
Cosidering trying this Tooheys Extra Dry Platinum, sounds alright.
For $40 you can't go wrong. At $55 it's less tempting.
Hi, rochow.
In your post you were saying : "Tooheys Extra Dry Platinum for $43".
I went to Dan Murphy last night (Marden, SA). Bought a carton of Beck's there for $36 via pric match.
They also have a carton (24 bottles) of Tooheys Extra Dry Platinum for $39.98.
It looks like it is even cheaper than the one you were referring to.
Can you please confirm it.No idea. I went to Dan's last month and got Carlton Mid for $30 because the Tooheys was over $50. I'm in a "semi-regional" town so perhaps that's the difference.

"Tooheys Extra Dry Platinum (24 stubbies)
$51.99
Dan Murphy's (QLD)"No Dan Murphy's come up when I search your area so can't really compare. Your BWS has it for $41 on special - a bit cheaper than here.
