bought a pair early this year on special for $12. They are very very ordinary headphones. Used them once and gave them to my 3yo nephew.
Spend the $5 on a large mocha coffee. You'll enjoy it more.

Definitely. Or buy a cheap pair of in ear headphones. I have a set of Creative Aurvana live 2's which isolate sound reasonably well, however I could barely hear them at full volume (amped) on a plane.

I dunno about you but I wouldnt buy anything expensive for kids because the likelyhood they get broken is 100%.
I ended up grabbing a couple for the kids despite the comments (and my assertion that I was going to skip the deal) as they're only for a domestic flight and couldn't go past grabbing a them both for the price of a sandwich and drink.
If they're really not suitable, they don't have to come back on the return trip!

I got some Sony ones for the kids a few years back for around $10. They were on clearance and normally > $50 back then… They still work because they're only used for flights…
