I have a new HOTPOINT LCD TV 20" with no remote or booklet( made in China but I am not sure whether it was brought in to Australia from O/Seas). It can be used as a computer screen and I thought about getting a universal remote control but cant find any site that can give me input code for this brand/model as a TV. I have old universal remotes that I used on analogue TV's. Can these be used on Digital TV's. Really not my area of expertise so any help/ advice really appreciated.
Need to Find a Remote Control for a HOTPOINT LCD 20" TV

+1 to harmony remote.
Dicksmith has 30% off on their eBay store. Worth a short if it is compatible.
Look on the back for the model number.
Your old universal remotes might work. What brand and model?
As above. Your best bet. Very cheap models of Harmony remotes, available. Many deals posted on OzBargain.
Otherwise, there are no issues in using one of your 'old universal remotes' with a 'digital' TV, but even if with a learning facility, without a remote to clone from, you do need a code.
Some very cheap 'badge-engineered' gear (a 'Hotpoint' branded TV fits that description) share codes with other, similarly badged, brands.
Trial and error or lucky outcome of further research, required for that.I had a look at a couple of old universal-remote booklets, that I own. No reference to 'Hotpoint' in either of those. Sorry.
What's the model number?
I have a One for All 3 Zapper Universal remote . It has squill ions of 5 number codes but no HOTPOINT mentioned.
OK I will try the search method with TheZapper 3 and try to work out code.
Thanks to all for the comments and help.
You could try a Logitech universal remote. Use this link to put the manufacturer and model number in and check if it is compatible. https://support.myharmony.com/en-au/compatibility?utm_sourceā¦
