Groupon has a 5 night travel package to Port Douglas for $399 including flights. Blackout dates noted. Seems too good to be true but lets put that aside for a minute.
Never used Groupon before but my guess is that I buy the package and then call the travel group to organise the dates and tickets?
What if I want to travel on a particular date? Is it left to luck to get the travel times that I want?
Thanks.
Hi rickb,
I haven't purchased a travel package from groupon but have purchased many hotel deals from them and I'm assuming that the experience/process would be similar.
When I have bought the hotel deals they have had a 14 day refund policy if you're dates are not available but I see in this deal that it's 7 so keep that in mind.
The way we've always done it is to see if the type of accommodation is available directly with the hotel (online) for the dates you're looking for. It may not be 100% indication but it gives you some confidence before shelling out any cash. Once we've checked that we buy the groupon voucher and immediately make the booking with the hotel.
So far in the half a dozen or so times we've purchased we've always got the dates we've wanted so never had experience with the refund. Good luck and hope that helps.
