Hey everyone,
I have an LG G3 16GB D855 with Optus (12 months into 24 month contract) and this morning I woke up and the screen wasn't responsive. If I press down hard and for a few seconds then the screen responds, but makes everything really difficult. After several hours of playing around I successfully managed to root the phone and install CM12, thinking that if it was a software issue that would fix it, and although it is slightly better it is still really bad. I did notice that the CPU temp was above 75 for the whole time I was in recovery mode installing CM12
Unfortunately about 9 months ago i cracked the screen and according to Optus thats the problem and that isn't covered under warranty, if I want it fixed I need to pay, even though the whole screen is not responsive right now and it has been working perfectly until this morning.
I don't think it is the screen because even if I hold down it does respond eventually, and I don't really want to pay someone to replace the screen for me when that might not fix the problem.
Has anyone experienced this before or has any tips on how to get it to be more responsive. It looks like the only other threads online say it is a bad unit and covered under warranty, something which doesn't apply to me.
Thanks in advance
Can you tell them you don't expect the screen to be fixed, but for the phone itself to be fixed? Try getting in touch with the manufacturer.
