I am just finishing up 1 year of ANZ Black reward card. Have got 50K points accumulated. May have to close the credit card if ANZ does not wave the 2nd year annual fee (I think they wont). Now what should I do with the points ? Any better way to utilise them. The options I have is :
1) Get Woolies/Coles/Target gift cards (12 month utilisation period)
2) Get them transferred to qantas (Not sure if this is possible)
3) ANything else better than above two options ??????

Why didn't you take a FF card?
The fee is higher so they might not convert them to QFF points if you didn't pay for the fee
Could transfer to one of the FF partners with ANZ Rewards - Asia Miles, Virgin Australia, or Singapore Krisflyer
Gift cards used to be the best value for redemption but they increased the points required in August which was super annoying. I would definitely suggest you re-compare as some frequent flyer programs may give better value for money as a redemption option now.
Yes, just realized that they increased the $50 redemption from 9500 to 11500. Will explore if I can convert them to QFF. Thanks all for the replies.

Hi Future Kids, the conversion ratio for FF programs is 2:1 which looks very bad to me. I would go for the gift cards (which seems to be the only viable option for now). Thanks

I've been told redeeming for gift cards isn't the best to do but if you aren't planning on travelling then it's a good option, I'd enquire about converting to them to qantas.. I'm pretty sure you can?
