Im going back to HK, if TRS works it costs ~$50 cheaper for each iPhone…
I thought it was the purchase price /11.so the cheapest is 1079 hence divide by 11 should be almost 100$

I've claimed many items (jewelry, electronics etc at once - I don't believe it would matter if there were 2 or 3 of the same item) - the above link also has a help line at the bottom if you need rock solid confirmation.
Off topic but if GST begins on all (personally) imported items regardless of value, is this also the end of TRS?
Shouldn't be, as the point of it is to encourage people to make their purchases here rather than overseas.
there's no maximum but they just warn you that if you bring it back then you will get taxed or prosecuted if you don't declare and got caught out.
in regards to number, I don't think there is maximum too. once saw a chinese tourist literally dump 20-30 receipts in front of the TRS officer (all vitamins, etc). the TRS office wasn't impressed.. told her off as she didn't bother to even calculate the amount but he did process her stuff eventually after 15 mins.
Will the security guard stop me in the gate for that many devices? I think i saw 1 laptop hand carry max notice before…
I probably need to do show 1 macbook to TRS (or whatever before I enter security gate) and put to my baggage first.
I think the guards only stop you cause they need to inspect all laptops at security check.
I'm sure plenty of people have one laptop for work and another for personal use
I've travelled with 2 laptops and a tablet. #yolo #thuglife
No Limit.
I suppose the only limit will be the cabin luggage restriction. As long as it is within your airline's rule, you will be fine.
HK customs may have additional restrictions, especially if you are planning to enter mainland China.
Few years ago I flew out of Sydney and claimed TRS on an iPhone 5, six iPad minis, iPod touch, Apple TV and a Macbook Pro. Took them all out of original box so it can fit on to my backpack, didn't have any issue whatsoever, I did get asked by security check and I just said they were all Christmas presents.
TV in hand carry?
I have TRS question but didn't want to create a new thread. If my friend bought something for me using her own card, can I claim TRS without her card?
Yes, you just need to show the receipt. If tax invoice is more than $1000, then you'll need your own name and address on it. They won't check whose credit care paid for it.
Thanks!
so I don't think I can get an educational discount of Mackbook from my friend who work in uni and do the TRS….
If you plan on bringing it back, the max is $900 per person (legally). If you just plan on buying it for overseas friends/family etc, then no there is no limit on $ or #. I have taken more than you before in one go, but they were bought for family since Apple products are much more expensive relative in their country.
