Suggest a Graphics Card for my rig

  GPU probably won't change a lot with ARK until it's optimised better. It doesn't play the best right now. So, probably best to not buy around ARK.

    Thanks Kane very handy info. I was also looking at getting him the new metal gear solid phantom pain, ive been looking towards the R9 280 as it looked quite good spec wise for the price.

    Not too sure what loss he might see in a pcie 3 card used in a pcie 2 slot though?

    I thought something like the R9 280 would let him play a few games to come at ok settings?

      There shouldn't be much if at all any loss using a pcie 2 slot forr a pcie 3 card, even if there is; it would be very little difference.

  My personal recommendation, given your budget would be the Gigabyte Radeon R9 280 3GB WINDFORCE Video Card which goes for roughly $250.

  Also, you won't need a 750W power supply for your build (in it's current state). I would suggest maybe something around 550-600W, if you still want to play it safe, and save some money.

  Thanks Tetris, i too have been looking at the R9 280, cheers for the Gigabyte recommendation!

  Ive already bought the psu, wasnt too expensive and i thought it would leave him some options open for future upgrades?
