I defiantly spent more than I would normally and used it as an opportunity to grab new tech (tablet, GoPro) that won't have any discounts applied for a while (read: probably about a month).
Anyone get any unusually good deals?

Based on the poll,
Quite alot of ppl spent $0.
0 :D
Looks like a little halo on your smiley face
the greatest saving of all.
Why $0??
It was a great deal. Especially for many overseas items that never get discounted
Got an Oral B toothbrush Triumph 5000 and Tacx Home Bicycle trainers.
How much was the toothbrush?
$119, I have the Pro 500 but need a better one.
Thanks
Changing the way you wiggle the brush makes no difference.
@Diji1: I think the Triump 5000 have 40000 spins per minute vs 20,000 for the Pro 500, if I brush for the same time, I think it will clean better. My dentist did teach me how to brush properly, I have done it all wrong with the manual tooth brush.
I was tempted, but I defiantly spent $0.
I think this is the first time I've ever seen that word used correctly.
For what it's worth, mine was on purpose as tongue in cheek.
Their is always a good explanation
For all intensive purposes you're decision to spend $0 it's probably for the best - it could of been alot worser.
Are yous serious
Not sure how to do bold but i wrote yous on purpose
Well, he did make it bold, so if you didn't see it, you should probably go to OPSM Specsavers some cheap chinese online optometrist (after all, this is ozbargain) and get your eyes checked.
cenrtainly replied to the wrong comment .. right?
@KevinFine: no?
What? No Porpoises?
You overdid it. Never go full retard.
I bought LEGO..AGAIN!
Twenty-three people didn't spend a single cent?!
I used the code to get $100 off a S6, then spent $100 on accessories for it (using the code again).
I'm an ozbargainer, only if there's a saving to be made, I will make a purchase. In my case it was more expensive, due to their added shipping costs, click n collect was not available :(
bought a couple of things that were on my "long term list of things to get only when there's a bargain".
Got an iPad Air 2 64GB and a Dyson handheld V6 vacuum.
Me too! Dyson tool kit for my dc59
Instax printer plus film - bday pressie for my sis worth only with discount
Could easily have got more but resisted
bought another ipad mini 3 to play clash of clans. only this time it is in grey. so now i have all 3 colours. it's very tempting at $410, couldnt resist.
What is it they say about a fool and their money again?
Depends on how much money you've got to spend…
fool?
a fool and their money
You mean Apple consumers/cult members?
I spent $800-$900 on 3 computer parts for my hackintosh/normal PC. GTX 970 G1, i5-4690k and AsRock Z97 Extreme4
How much did you spend on the GTX 970? I'm looking at the GTX 960 4GB from PC Case gear for $484 after the discount.
Ended up paying $460 for it. The vendor I bought it from had it on a little bit of a sale (listed at $510 down from $540).
I ended up getting refunded for my mobo as it was out of stock, bought a different one for $30 more. So I probably spent closer to $1,000.
I brought nothing. just didn't feel like it this time around.
You should have at least brought something… like Cadbury Favourites.
Agreed! I'm not inviting godofpizza to a party ever again.
$650. There was more I wanted to buy but I did not use my two uses of the code efficiently.
Well I forgot to use the code on the bidets I purchased so that was exciting.
Not as exciting as having your backside washed I'm sure
Are these the Japanese style electric ones? You can easily get them in Australia? Inquiring, errr… minds, need to know!
God no, I'm a cheap-ass! Those ones are beautiful though. There are a few suppliers, at my local shopping centre there's a reasonably large bidet shop. Try looking around locally
Tempted to buy the LG G4, but I already have too many smartphones that are perfectly good and functional.
Put those phone on gumtree and ebay and buy yourself G4. Problem solved.. and you feel left out
Bought a Pro-Ject Debut Carbon for $425. Seeing as it usually retails for $600+ I'm quite happy with my purchase.
I bought 24 pairs of cotton mens socks and 6 tubes of Voost multi vitamins. Total was $50 ish.
Bless your cotton socks scrimshaw.
Bought a HP Microserver N54L got to have somewhere to store that 24TB of Porn
& Work files.
Nothing like hiding 1gb of porn in 24TB of work right?
5TB of 2160p Porn + 1TB of video and then 2TB of Animation and Client files
$0 because all sellers jacked up their price.
Was going to buy a washing machine anyway so got $100 off
Bought a WiiU, been holding out for a long time and decided for $306 w/Splatoon that it was the right time to get it. Early Christmas present for myself and the girlfriend, which we are both pleased about.
nothing worthwhile tbh.
brewers yeast and vitamin B3, winning
$0. Will probably regret it, as I want to buy a decent camera or two so I can start documenting more of my life. But, I don't know shit about cameras, and a prematurely made decision is worse than no decision in this instance, so its okay.
I bought a $3k camera knowing jack all, fast forward 4 years and my friend said my photos of his wedding are better than the 'pros'. Sometimes you need to that leap of faith to get you going, otherwise you'll never do it.
Thats a good attitude to have, and it will lead you to happiness and success. But it doesn't work for me. I need to believe that my ability to research and draw conclusions from data has the potential to shape my life for the better. Even if that is just a delusion..
Get a RX100 :)
Was looking at buying one but Kogan jacked up the price not long after this special started
Pro tip - spend the money on lenses. It is better to have nice glass and a average camera body, than average glass and a nice camera body. Lenses also don't date and will be with you far longer than camera body's that change with technology.
2nd hand lenses resell value is usually 80% of the current RRP, could be lower depending on the condition of the lens.
I was debating whether to upgrade my Sony NEX5 to an a7ii (recently $300 cashback offer). A mate said the same thing, so I didn't pull the trigger.
Upgrading a7ii from Nex5 is a big leap and I wont compare it with getting an expensive lens for Nex5 and not going for the upgrade. You can do that between A7 or A7r or A7ii and you go with the cheapest.
Bought two LG G4 and some plumbing parts from masters.
Had to borrow my wife's long abandoned paypal account
Just bought a Dyson V6 Animal for $422.50
Bought some things for a pc upgrade.
Was gonna build a pc when skylake came out. But decided to wait for what ever haswell E gets replaced with. Hopefylly early next year.
Picked up a gtx970
Samsung ssd
Nxzt x61 cooler
All can be used later on.
Good little savings
How much was the GTX970?
http://m.ebay.com.au/itm/EVGA-GeForce-GTX970-4GB-ACX-Dual-Fa…
This one minus 15%
When i bought it, it was 469…looks like it went up 30.
Has yours shipped? I haven't heard anything from them yet. Maybe they were inundated with sales.
@parkermax:
Haven't heard anything either. The other things I bought have already shipped so hopping this will be on the way soon. It was a good price for it and maybe they sold a few. Hope they have stock.
Yeah, I was reading their feedback and it looks like they're terrible at communicating. Some say the items were not updated when shipped.
@parkermax:
I had a look at it too earlier. Some people seemed to have a few issue. Let's hope everyone who bought one gets it soon.
That's the spirit mate.
Estimated for the 2/10 - 9/1, I will update you when I get it. :) Hope you do the same.
I emailed the seller and it turns out they've sent it, but they haven't updated the ebay status.
@parkermax:
Good news mate. Thanks for the update.
Hope mine is on the way too.
@parkermax:
Got mine today mate. Did yours turn up?
It's here! It's here! HOORAY! The GTX970 Gigabyte G1 is massive!
@parkermax:
lol…nice and enjoy it.
I purchased some heavily discounted LS shirts from American Ebay sellers (to be sent to my shipping forwarder), brands with interesting patterns and weaves. May as well purchase now with the 15% off, before the dollar drops even further and the government begins taxing personal imports. It is nice to get a shirt for $30 US that retails for 5 times that amount at places like Neiman Marcus. With the shirts I purchased from Charles Tyrwhitt and sale and coats & pants from Asos 9also on sale), I can discard my crappy, cheap, old clothes and am set for the rest of my life.
I'm TRYING to buy a set of 19" wheels for my car but nobody seems to be willing to list wheels individually so i can make the most of the offer :p
The ones who spent more than the last price bracket in the vote better have used multiple accounts otherwise they need their ozbargain membership revoked.
Or they just bought a single really expensive item and cashed in a $100 discount that otherwise would not have been there?
I bought that $249 Buro chair from officeworks. It is absolutely heaven. The seat feels like it won't pancake after a few years and the frame is so sturdy.
i just hate you now. was happy with the $79 Ikea chair but okay.
I'm glad I went and tried the buro chair at officeworks ~
Hated it….
What was wrong with it ? I love it
I think chairs are a personal thing ~ my ass & back just didnt feel good in it…
Bought lots of skincare and makeup. Best sale ever!
Spent $122.26 on PS4 games (Tomb Raider Definitive Edition, Bloodborne and a pre-order of Fallout 4)! My cashrewards refund of a cool $3.45 came through yesterday to bring the total down to $118.81.
Wasn't Tomb Raider on PS+ recently? Might have been for PS3 though.
I think Temple of Osiris was free in August but this is a different game. Either way, I got my PS4 like 10 days ago and haven't activated PS+ yet.
And yeah, the PS3 version was free in March.
In the process of building so bought a sink I had my eye on for the new kitchen. Timely sale!
Wanted to buy more, but had to resist as I'll be needing to lay out some money to furnish the new house once complete.
eBay is conducting a survey?
Helped a friend buy some desktop components as we were going to be building one soon anyway.
I spend about $200 on my own stuff, plus around $900 for my friend's components.
Very nice saving.
Might need to see if this becomes a yearly sale - if so I'll just bookmark what I want to buy from around June, but isn't urgent
