I'm in Las Vegas next week for a work conference. When I first booked this I was planning to do some shopping - maybe an iPad, a Garmin watch, etc. Now the AU dollar has dived the prices are less attractive. Are there still any bargains to be had in any categories?

If you like The North Face stuff buy everything TNF. You will save a fortune. They are much much cheaper in the States.
Just came back from the states, and couldn't find much in the way of bargains. Alcohol and cigarettes in Nevada are still a good buy at least.
In the US, Ive only ever really found clothing and footwear that are significantly cheaper. Not talking 50% off, but there are certainly bargains to be had.
My recommendation for shopping in Vegas (and assuming you have transport), is the northside outlets http://www.premiumoutlets.com/vegasnorth/
Stores like Nike, Adidas, Under armour, Samsonite, GAP etc, and if you go there on a weekend, most of the stores will have an additional 20-30% off.
(I was there in August and picked up Nike runners for $20-$30 USD
Kohls is always a worthy visit in the USA as well.
+1 on the outlets, particularly if you are a short lady. The petite range is incredible. Things like Levi jeans cannot be imported directly by mail order.

Like you said, the dive in the AU$ makes it not as fantastic as it once was - but there's still some good deals to be had.
In TJ Maxx, found a whole section selling designer handbags eg michael kors, d&g…are they real?

Cocaine is pretty cheap in Vegas. I think it was $100 US a gram or something. Compared to South America It's not a super bargain but compared to Australia It's pretty good. Stock up.
Indirectly (directly, arguably) contributing to the cartel violence and drug wars in Mexico is a small price to pay for some good cheap Coke.
I am sure you can get some fairtrade cocaine if you looked a little harder
