No deal at any price without the campaign, you want to sell half the game? Make it half price…

You want the full game? then stop being a cheap ass and buy a ps4/xboxone.

      • That has nothing to do with paying full price for multiplayer only.

You want the full game? then stop being a cheap ass and buy a ps4

I have a PS3 and a PS4, but I have a real problem with companies trying to shaft consumers with their purchase, as for being a cheap ass… look what website you're using…

        • Last gen should be lucky there even getting the online part of the game, there consoles are too old and it's time to move on.
lol yeah probably not the best choice or words but ive seen multiple ways to get ps4's and xbox ones for as little as $280 used and $400 new.

Taking it further I'd much rather multiplayer didn't exist. If I could go back twenty years and somehow could prevent online gaming and multiplayer it would make it a hell of a lot simpler buying and playing games on my own. As it is I have to have logged in active steam accounts, online registrations and now games that were good for playing on your own are coming out designed just for multiplayer without any campaign mode included. It's ridiculous (especially since I'm transient and can't register for an ADSL connection).

I'd be happy if multiplayer still meant four people in one room hooked up to a N64 taking on the role of Oddjob and various baddies in Goldeneye. But now games are coming out without a single player offline option. $69.99 for no campaign? Bad deal.

Steam offline mode besides who would get a gaming pc and steam and not connect to the internet.

There are still plenty of games without online part.
Im currently playing tons of Mad Max on PC which doesn't have an online part ive already preordered fallout 4 which isn't online either.

Thanks for the heads up. I'm still bitter about Diablo III (I really hate the fact it relied on me logging in on the net every time I wanted to play). I don't like MMORPG like WoW and grew up playing games like Doom, Wolfenstein and C&C Renegade. Just want more AAA titles (trawling RPG dungeon and fantasy games and 1st person shooters with up to date GFX) whose main attraction isn't multiplayer. I also understand many online components are for 'piracy' verification purposes but cartridge duplication and other forms of piracy had long existed. Also many games (mostly non AAA) are easy to find with keygens and ways of bypassing online activation. But I just wait until they get cheap (I don't like the feeling and want to support developers in some way). Torchlight was great on the 360 but the sequel was on steam (not offered on console) and it sucked having to have an active connection every time I wanted to have a slash and fossick. This is especially a problem in Australia where many regions don't have cheap and widely available wifi. If you travel or don't have a fixed ADSL service then modern gaming is most prohibitive (all thanks to multiplayer and added anti-piracy measures). I'm surprised other methods of providing campaign only or offline games haven't been available. How many gamers are out there between the ages of 16-35 who are thirsting for AAA titles and are in temporary rentals without access to fixed ADSL or cable? Even if I could afford it (cheapest around $59 a month with landline or naked) if you move every six months restrictive re-connection costs and no guarantee future landlords will permit or telco coverage plus people you move in with may be on contract means I personally am unable to commit to contract. The only way to get around this is to abuse cafes and McDonalds to game for hours but then you usually get noticed and ushered on (even if you buy a meal after a few hours it is most frowned upon). It could all be solved if Steam didn't exist and developers focused less on multiplayer and more on offline/campaign.

        • You could build a house with that wall of text.

Edit: just took the time to read it.. you're going on about your own personal connection problems (fun fact - these are NOT problems for the vast majority of people), and blaming steam for providing a platform that encourages multiplayer? Are you joking? The world doesn't revolve around you mate.

Tongue in cheek "mate". If I could, meaning it would suit me. Gaming in the last twenty years has come along in leaps and bounds. From blocky pixels and jagged sprites to fluid 'Hollywood' level in-game graphics. I loathe Steam though and that seems where all savvy gamers are finding their offers and where great titles are being released. I much prefer hard copies and campaigns but more and more games are being designed for online (campaign as well as multiplayer) and downloads (mobile). Read it for what it is. A wall of text sure but I'm not trying to cater with paragraphing or formatting it for anyone. "Personal connection problems aren't issues for the VAST majority"? Maybe you don't live in a Sydney or Melbourne but fixed no contract internet is an issue (most places don't have NBN yet) and with house prices through the roof more people are renting more than ever, and co-habiting. With that goes problems with setting up connections, delegating who has access to connections and so forth. I contend a lot of people will have problems with connections if they already don't.
