OnePlus Two 64GB $531.25 @ DWI eBay

CLICK15

Hi everyone, I know the Nexus event is coming up shortly, but a great deal with the CLICK15 code. I know that tech analysts have bashed the OnePlus Two relentlessly for it's lack of NFC, but to me, when compared to the upcoming Nexus 5X specs, it's a minor trade off.

I'm personally more inclined to go with the OnePlus One as it fulfils what I am looking for in a phone at this point in time. To me, the upgrades in the Two aren't worth the ~$150 price gap. And the upcoming Nexus 5X is tipped for a $399 USD base start price, which will probably be fairly pricey in AUD given the rubbish exchange rate.

Just looking at the Nexus 5X specs in comparison to the One, there are many aspects in which the One is a better phone than the upcoming 5X (More Ram, More Efficient Processor, Bigger Battery, More Storage)

I'll link some spec comparisons in the comments with the upcoming 5X, One and Two at GSMArena

EDIT: There is no support for 700Mhz bands for Telstra and Optus 4G, as this is the Chinese Version. Buy with caution

Anyways, here's the links to the deals:

    • Assuming you go through CashRewards with eBay, it'll work out to be roughly $518 through eBay.

      • +2

CashRewards tracking is flaky, so it's a gamble.

      Sort of…

      S808 vs S810
      3GB LPPDR3 vs 4GB LPDDR4
      AMAZING camera vs Mediocre Camera
Cheap-feeling plastic chassis vs really nice metal chassis
Okay battery life vs okay battery life
      Single SIM vs Dual SIM
      MicroSD vs No MicroSD
      Gorgeous Screen vs Good Screen

Really depends on if you want good camera and nicer screen.

      • +1

Removal battery vs non removable battery
32gb vs 64gb on board storage
        700mhz (supports Telstra 4g) vs missing 700hmz
        Price $458 vs $531

        • I agree with your comparisons

What many of us miss with the one plus hype train is that their products take shortcuts in assembly and have grounding issues with the touch screen or the fingerprint sensor this time around and warranty support is almost non existent

As for the processor , the 810 has issues with hearing despite all their promises of fixing it , so 808 is QN advantage here

The screen is the most used part of the phone and when it is twice the quality perceived of one plus two , I strongly recommend getting the LG G4

      • Good Point, but what so far has concerned me with the G4 is it's lack of custom AOSP or CM based ROMs. Whilst this can inevitably change with time, the fact that the phone has been out for a decent amount of time and lacks CM is bizarre. I'm sure with time this will improve as it is using a Qualcomm Chip (Unlike S6 w/ Exynos)

  • OnePlusTwo equals SixtyFour.

This model seems to lack 700MHz LTE support? If so that's a big disadvantage for Telstra and Optus users…

    • +2

yep, another chinese phone, made for their domestic market, so it doesn't cover all the bands in Australia.

    • Agreed. You'd be really affected with your 4G speeds with this phone. LG G4, even H815 model, is a much better option in almost every department

    • I have a OnePlus One which also doesnt have 700MHz LTE support. Would I be getting faster 4g speeds if it did? Its already pretty fast (with both optus and telstra), anywhere between 12-30mbps depending on reception.

      • It really depends, the main benefit would be greater 4G coverage with Telstra in regional areas. In areas where there are multiple LTE bands deployed then it may be advantageous having access to 700Mhz if the other bands are congested.

Thanks, I missed that. I'll add it to the top

  • Everybody is different, but I've had the oneplus one since it came out and hardly see a use for nfc.
Most things I could set up for nfc I find just as easy to do manually.
    Just my 2c.
Good phone (after coming from iPhone), but I wouldn't let lack of nfc influence my choice on a phone. Yet.

    • I have the oneplus one as well. I rarely use NFC but I find excluding it from a high end android phone in 2015 a backwards step.

TBH when the oneplus one came out, there weren't too many alternatives at that price point, so it was one of the best value phones at the time.

If I was looking to purchase a phone today, I would look over the OnePlus Two. There's a lot more attractive alternatives at this price. The LG G4 is better value IMO

      • I wouldn't buy a oneplus again either, but that's not to say I'm particularly unhappy with it, just better options as you say

I still prefer the iPhone photo and video by a mile. Just can't justify the price. It's the only real let down for me on the oneplus

        • I wouldn't buy OPO again either but due these issues

-price point is no longer value for money
          -multi touch issue.

    • In effect NFC will be useless in my use case scenario after the Marshmallow Update, as Android Pay will not work on rooted or phone's running unsigned images (custom roms). Roms are what keep me on Android, so there isn't a chance I won't be developing and tinkering with a new phone.

  • I thought "two" means 2 units for $531.25
