Sydney Harbour Bridge Climb

Hey there! I'm really keen to do the bridge climb in Sydney - however the price is extortionate. I think for the daytime it is $268. So, does anyone know of a website or agency or something that offers discounted climbs? Also, with the people who have experience with it, if I did the 'express' climb is this a better option? Assuming it goes to the same points but only more quickly, I would enjoy this more than being stuck with people who are unfit and slow.

Cheers!

  • I did the climb several years ago, and there was no express option then. There was about 1 - 2 hours waiting to depart, and so if express means avoiding that, then it may be worth it. However I doubt that you could do the actual climb any faster than we did and we were in a mixed age group.

  • Bridge climb has become insanely popular, hence the ridiculous price.

Apparently it's actually more expensive than a helicopter tour of Sydney, which they say gives you a better view of the place anyway. Try googling that, instead, maybe.

Other option is too see if the fad dies down and hence discounts start appearing.

Wish I'd done it when it was around $50…

  • I've done it, good experience, not sure I'd pay $268 though. Be wary of doing it in Summer as you have to get dressed in overalls and gets very hot.

Thought most expensive was twilight. When I did, it was $120 which someone else paid for.
Depend if you have the spare money, personally I would rather go up harbour bridge and walk across from milsons point to circular quay for FREE. My son rode his bike on training wheels across the bridge when he was only few years old, can also take photo of Opera House from Ocean Terminal. Take great Harbour Bridge view from Luna Park or the Rocks or Cafe Sydney at night time.

  • I live quite a ways away, but one day I purposely took my bike on the train to do the exact same route that @eatwell365 has mentioned.

    I totally loved it.

Red balloon is your ticket to cheap bridge climbs. Gift cards can regularly be had for 20-30% off on gumtree or eBay. Then you can stack that with red balloon promo codes for an even better deal.

We did the twilight climb in July before leaving Sydney & Australia permanently. Why am I still on OzBargain? No idea!
