Anyone know why WD stopped making the WD Livewire Powerline Network kit ? No luck with Staticice.
I'm now in need of extending wifi coverage in my house, and this gadget from a few years back seems cool with 4 ports.
From my research, alternatives are D-Link Powerline AV2 2000 or the faster Extollo LANsocket 1500 (if in AUS yet)
Advice or comments welcome.
Do you still use it or have you moved on ?
mine still works and I have at least three of four(i think) units still working….. I don't honestly know what they preform like stats-wise but they have been more reliable than my wireless for streaming.etc P.S I bought it for the four ports aswell.
P.P.S Just to clarify the fourth unit still works as far as I know, just not hooked up….
I bought one many years ago from amazon
I used it for about a month. Sometimes the speed was 5MB/s sometimes it was 200KB/s. I couldnt explain the drop in speed. Sometimes restarting it helped, sometimes it didn't.
I suggest you get a super long Ethernet cable and connect a wireless router to your existing one.
