  • I'd personally advise against this, as they don't seem to last. Get a XIAOMI MiBand instead.

    • How is the accuracy of travel distance and amount of calories burned for the XIAOMI MiBand?

      • Can't compare, as the Jawbone died.

The UP24 requires selection into of sleep mode too.

        • Well its like comparing apples and oranges. Its like saying every fitness tracker is crap and just get a Xiaomi MiBand.
I found that with fitness trackers, the hardware could be awesome or equivalent to each other, however its the software which really determines which one is good.

You need to work out what you want from a fitness tracker, which is why people choose between fitbit / garmin / sony / jawbone etc.

If you want just a pedometer and don't really demand any features then a Xiaomi may just be enough for you.

Jawbone does do a good job with the sleep stuff though, sadly their Quality Control isn't too good. I remember using the first one Up, they had the "wake" alarms which it will determine within a 30min window what is the best time to wake you up. I found that feature to be awesome, sadly no other fitness trackers do that.

        • @lplau:
Durability is up there, and UP24 didn't cut it for me.

Spending $20 will tell you if you want to spend any more.

      • My wife has the UP24 while I went through 2 mibands. The miband dongle can fall out of the band when your wrist contorts in certain ways (the reason I went through 2 so far).

I like the miband for the battery life (29-33 days) and simplicity. My wife likes the UP for the more sophisticated app and diet related materials.

I also liked the fact that you don't need to tell the band when you go to sleep with the miband- the issue with that is that it often estimated my time in bed (watching a movie/surfing the net) as sleep.

My miband seemed to have underestimated distance compared with the Up. Using the map my fitness in addition to the bands on hikes we've done together suggests that the Up gave more accurate readings.

Bottom line, need to identify what you want it for and get the one that best fit (no pun intended).

        • Thanks for the info :) I will mainly use it for running, so accuracy on the distance and calorie tracker is top priority.
