Group buying deal sites referral

Hi all, as you know there're a few group buying deal sites out there offer credit for each new user you signed up & bought something.

Now, if I email this new groupon customer the product referral link, will I get the referral credit if he visits groupon from cashreward and bought the exact same product I emailed him? Or does he have to click my email link to visit groupon so I can get free referral credit?

It's just he also wants to earn the 5% rebate from cashreward, and I want my $10 credit..dilemma lol, so hoping for a win win situation.

Please advise. Thanks!
