So due to spare time while I am looking for work I have been thinking of buying and reselling items, I have gotten to the stage where I need extra funds for my house hold and while I am not working I thought it’d be a great idea to buy and sell some stuff locally or online while I can.
Firstly has anyone got any experience in this area, not looking at making a small business rather just a hobby selling used or new items.
Made money before buying old laptops replacing ram/harddrive and maybe just a clean install and has worked a dream but isn’t much of a margin and I have to run across the cheap hardware to buy.
I also heard of a couple of people buying and reselling new/used console games at a decent margin, again really depends on if you can score a bargain then resell or trade.
What do you guys think? Is this worth the time? Is there much profit to be made?

Why not become a private tutor? If you have any qualifications at all in any kind of subject, or know a 2nd language, you can teach and charge like a bull for $40~50 per hour.
Good money and has no material costs, other than a few textbooks, phone credit, stationary and your time.
I did tutoring some years back. It was just first year economics and accounting. So easy, yet so many clueless people willing to pay $40 per hour. You just have to be really good communicator.
Or do you want to be an Uber driver….

A few years back I made a good bit of profit by selling phone cases that I bought for 99c each from China. Unfortunately that doesn't work when every mall and market has a few people selling them and our dollar is so bad.
There are still a lot of other things that you can get from China/HK on the cheap and easily resell at markets as a private seller. No need to worry about after sales support etc like that. A mate used to do this with cheap Minecraft gear from Aliexpress.
You'll get killed by the usual things.. spending money on inventory, spending money on upgrades, spending money on shipping and the very worst, after sales support.
