Best Current Deal for Zoo Annual Membership -

Hi all,

Have been doing a bit of scouting around for the best value annual zoo memberships given most of these allow for free entry to interstate zoos. There was a similar topic back in 2013 - https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/95890 but obviously the pricing arrangements have changed.

Perth Zoo -

1x Adult - $84
Children (4-15) - $53

Zoos SA

1x Adult - $99.95
Children (4-14) - $43

Zoos VIC
1x Adult - $90
Children - Free with adult membership (0-15)

Does any one have any other options? Looks like the Zoos VIC option is the best for anyone with kids over 4 otherwise the Perth Zoo one is a good option for adults/kids under 4.

    Looked at the T&Cs of VIC zoos… and outside of VIC "Children between the ages of 4 and 15 will be charged entry"

    "1.32 For Zoos Victoria members who live in NSW, SA, QLD, NT, WA and ACT, reciprocal entry rights to zoos in any of these states apply to adult members only. Children between the ages of 4 and 15 will be charged entry and accompanying adult members must present a valid Zoos Victoria membership card along with photo ID."

      Yep - they only recently changed this under pressure from interstate zoos as interstate families were using this loophole

    Do you need to live locally to buy annual membership from interstate zoo?

      Perth zoo has this statement:

      The new Zoo Friends membership cards no longer have your picture printed on them, however, your picture will still be taken and your identity will be confirmed when you are scanned into the Zoo. Please remember to carry photo ID with you at all times in order to access your Zoo Friends member benefits at Zoonique and the cafés. When visiting interstate Zoos you will be asked for ID and your confirmation receipt to show your Zoo Friends membership is valid. Please keep your receipt for this purpose.

      Does it mean I need to visit them prior visiting other interstate zoo?
