Thanks Spaceback, any suggestion for 5.1 system?
Depends what brand your tv is. Sometimes just more convenient having the blu-ray and surround sound as the same brand as the tv.
My TV is 55inch Sony and I already have a blueray player. Due to small space I was interested for a sound bar system
Reasonable sound bar, has HDMI inputs so it act as a receiver. Decodes all your typical blu-ray sound formats and has NFC/BT for easy music listening.
Personally I'd go separates over a soundbar any day. But I don't think you'd go wrong with this.
Thanks plmko.
Slightly off topic, but what are your thoughts re: sound plates (eg. Sony HTXT3?). Again due to space constraints I'm looing for something small, no sub and no additional wires.
was this the one on Dick Smith website? it was going for a good price, but wasn't sure it was worth the 100 or so dollars I would be paying for it as I saw Klipsch speakers going for bit more and they are a more trusted brand in sound.
Seems to retail for $498, so up to you if $59 is a good saving.
Haven't heard a 'good' soundbar setup in person, but surely once you look to over $400 it's almost worth getting a 5.1 setup?
Also, if you're looking to spend over $400 now on home audio, probably better off just waiting 3 months for post Xmas sales
