Spam Spam and More Spam!

Recently our work emails have been bombarded with junk mail and attempted trojans. But what's more concerning is that people are receiving emails from our email addresses but haven't originated from our office (if that makes sense).

Tech guys reckon there isn't much we can do as it isn't originating from here. Thought i'd turn to the wonderful world of tech heads here at OZB to work out a solution? FYI changing our domain name and .com.au not an option :/

  • Supply your legit sending hosts with a SPF record at your domain registrar so that at least it's easier for the recipients to recognise spam.

We use both SPF + Domain Keys to sign all out-bound emails. However that still depends on whether the receiving end is trying to validate these.

Nothing much you can do with spams, validation methods are available like mentioned above but not always effective depending on the situation. (You might even have it already)

You can consider changing the email address itself (keeping the domain name, eg [email protected]), but then your clients have to know that you have a new address….
