Jenkins PS4100 Portable Scanner on clearance at Officeworks. Spotted in the Geelong (VIC) Store

Description

Handheld scanner SVP Handyscan PS-4100 is good for scanning documents, books & pictures up to A4 size. It is easy to use with the built-in realtime Scanning Detector to avoid distortion, and over-speed alert to control scanning speed. 900, 600 or 300 dpi, color or monochrome scanning option is provided. JPEG or PDF files can be saved directly to your micro SD and transfer to your computer via USB port. It supports Windows 7 / Vista / XP and Mac OS10.4 or above without the need to install a driver. Built-in display shows the selected resolution, remaining battery life, and memory status. Bonus software included! Powered by 2 x AA batteries, that can approximately scan 200 pages.

I'm not sure how good it is, I didn't buy one as I have the Epson equivalent. There were about a 10 or so there. After looking at the clip on this page http://svp-tech.com/ps4100/ps4100.html they're apparently good for scanning your kitchen floor tiles. And we all know it's a must to scan one's kitchen floor tiles to show your friends.

I'd rather use the CamScanner app on the smartphone.

    Good for eneloops

    • I've never understood the obsession with eneloops. Is it because they retain their charge for long periods and this device might sit idle between uses?

  • I have one of these, different brand but looks about the same.

These are great during client meetings as you can scan documents without being connected to a computer.

Camscanner is great too but looks odd when you whip out your phone in front of a client and start taking pictures of their sensitive documents. A bit like recording a conversation with a hand held device is more acceptable than recording a conversation on your phone.

    I paid $69.95 in 2011.
