Anyone Had Experience with Fastway Couriers?

I just bought a router last week through a wireless1 deal and fastway tracking has reported the parcel as delivered and signed for. The signature isn't recognizable and none of my neighbours know anything about the parcel. The parcel was never at my door or anything. Why wouldn't they leave a calling card or something? Is this common with the courier company? What steps can I take? Feeling really disappointed.

  • Yeah I've had issues with them before but not like this.

Call their customer service and say you want it sorted.

Australia post has made a similar mistake with me where they delivered it to a street with a similar name. (Believe it or not they were actually helpful in sorting out the issue)

If someone signed for it find out who they are and where they live. The courier should've at least gotten their name and the address they delivered it to.

    • Thanks for the reply. I contacted customer service but they told me that the parcel was marked as delivered and that they could not do anything. They apologized and said that was all that they could do. I am contacting wireless1 and hopefully they can contact fastway and receive a more serious reply. From the reviews I have been reading from this company it isn't uncommon for this to happen.

      • Yeah, for my situation with Aus Post the seller contacted Aus Post.

They sent us confirmation of delivery proving they f***ed up.

I'd definitely call fastway back and offer to do a stat dec saying you weren't at home. They can do things it is just more awkward for them because they delivered your parcel to the wrong address.

Make sure also that they didn't have permission to leave the parcel at your door.

  • as someone who has both gone and seen the fastway couriers depots, and as a previous fastway customer, I can confidently say they're hopeless.
No organisation, slack drivers & poor customer service - i wouldn't send anything that you actually want delivered

  • +1

  • Useless bunch of so and sos. Ordered something last week. Should have taken 2-3 days to go from Melb to Canberra. It took a week. It was posted on Friday. It arrived in Canberra on Weds and was scanned as on board with the driver for delivery at about 7am. It wasn't actually delivered until Friday afternoon.

1 week intra Australia is pretty poor.

  • And this is the same mob used by Officeworks

  • I got the SanDisk Extreme Pro 128GB deal and they picked it up in the morning (9pam) and delivered by 4pm in the afternoon same day. Was very quick but then again, I had it delivered to Work in the city so mileage will vary..

  • Out of hundreds of deliveries from eBay Fastway are the only courier company who wasn't supplied my full address apparently. They sent me a text from a mobile number asking for my full address which seemed dodgy to me. So I googled their number and called them, told them my address and they delivered my parcel the next day.

  • Are you based around Melbourne CBD? I had similar issues happened to me, though fortunately all of my parcels did arrive. My local courier (I think they get allocated a territory so if you have a bad driver it's likely that you can't avoid him/her) just left delivery at the door and wrote "Front Door" on the signature section on the POD that gets scanned and uploaded on their website. The first time I got delivery from them the heavy bag was all torn up, luckily the seller replaced it with no hesitation at all, afterall I did not tick "authority to leave parcel at door". Another time I bought a pair of shoes and the driver left it in the meter box and wrote "meter box" on the POD….seems like things will never change, I just need to ensure that I insist on signatures needed at time of ordering.

    • Ahh jonno82! my driver does the same thing, though he doesn't hide it in the meter box.

I always want my parcel ASAP so never want it redelivered the next day if it can be safely hidden in another location :)

Of course, depending on the value of the item - I wouldn't want a $1300 laptop to be left on my meter box haha

  • My fastway driver has always been great to me. He leaves a calling card and then hides the parcel in a safe place (once it was behind my bin in the garden). I've never had any issues with deliveries - that is with over 5 years of online purchases. I have never lost a parcel through Fastway, cannot say the same with AusPost.

Again, it largely depends on the individual assigned to your area, but that applies to all companies, be it TNT, Fastway, Auspost, DHL etc…

  • They are reallllllly bad. Whirlpool forum has the weirdest experiences with them.
I remember one guy called their head office and said he would just go to the depot to collect it himself then he arrived and called and they took the phone off the hook…..

  • I ended up receiving my router! It was delivered to my local newsagency after investigation was conducted by fastway. Took 3 days total from expected delivery date.

  • My past experiences with them were bad. Courier guy saying that he's been to the house when I was at home the whole day and all that crap.

Last weekend I bought an item online and I received a notification that it was dispatched on Monday morning unfortunately through fastway. This is Thursday, and when I put the tracking number it only says collected and on the way. This was shown on Monday afternoon around 4pm.

Nothing after that. No updates whatsoever. What's the point of a tracking number.

  • Absolute classic today: have avoided buying nuts, spices, and herbs for over a year from what I believe to be the best value provider in Australia because they ship with Fastway. Fastway refuse to ring our intercom while we are home. So yesterday we finally decided to go ahead and place the order, knowing we would be home today and tomorrow in case they do actually ring on the intercom.

Of course, they did not but it was a welcome change to see that there was a new collection point only 5 minutes from home. I put on my shoes to go drive over there and who calls but Fastway!? The van with my package in it was stolen and is now in police custody having been ransacked. Fastway won't get it back for over a week and we wouldn't want our food stuff anyway at this point and will need to go through the claim process.

You couldn't make this up. I would have to think the driver left the van running and someone took advantage.

  • I bought something small from Amazon , and Amazon uses UPS i-parcel who then uses FASTWAY.

They wouldn't deliver to my work address in Sydney CBD and wouldn't even call me. Instead they send it back to America without attempting to call me at all.

FASTWAY is run by franchises who don't care. I'm really disapointed that Amazon and UPS outsources its delivery to such a shoddy company FASTWAY.

    Don't ever use FASTWAY.

  • I buy coffee from Melbourne to be delivered north west Sydney suburbs, never once had an issue, the driver is the best and very friendly, delivers in no more than 2 business days.
