Christmas Lights Bargain Wrap up Time!

After doing an eBay search, I was surprized to find no decent outdoor Christmas Lights for sale, with AU plugs. (at reasonable prices).
I turned to the OzBargain Forum… but there's not much historically here either.

I don't know where to look online, beyond eBay. (as Amazon + AUD/USD = dire, at the moment).

With so many well informed, educated bargainers, I anticipated there would be high demand and good reporting on standards, safety, and supply for all things Christmas Lights related!!

Can anyone suggest where I might be able to order Outdoor (pref LED) decent Christmas Lights, at a decent bargain?
(either now, or where I should be watching over the following 2 months, as stock enters the market)

Thanks :-)

I was surprized to find no decent outdoor Christmas Lights for sale,

    Maybe because it's September….

  • Oz bargainers buy Christmas lights when they almost throw them out 1 week prior to Christmas or the week after.
And run them off Eneloops (kidding)
Decent lights cost $$$ complete junk on deals direct, ect. Bunnings, woolworths can be okay, but have to wait for the stock to arrive, good quality lights sell out fast.
Best LED's I have were from Aldi, they sell out fast.

  • Reminds me I have a few to put up for sale this year.

dealsdirect usually have a decent selection but you need to pick them up on a cheap delivery promo or some sort of sale.

I have seen a lot on ebay quoting SAA Approval (Electrical Product Safety Approval Certification) but when ever I have checked them its for an entirely different product. A LED rope light silhouette santa with sled and the approval number is for an ice cream maker.
And of course the seller never replies to your question regarding it.

  • Thanks for the feedback & suggestions.

I thought someone, somewhere, would be selling cheap lights all year round. Apparently, I'll just wait for Christmas season to kick into full swing.

Thanks DirtyBird for reminding of the SAA approval check. I must remember to do it each o/s purchase.

I'll keep my eyes on the big chains, and dealsdirect, and wait!

  • I bought all of Bunnings stock of ones I put on house at over half price just after Christmas last year. Got enough sets to last a life time
