Well this sucks, I ordered that exact same thing.. I already emailed i-parcel guess I'll try Amazon support.
Thanks for the info.Yeah i-parcel support is completely useless.
Don't worry, Amazon is quite helpful when it comes to customer service. They even sent me a refund on the initial shipping charges (I picked the cheapest one). When they upgraded me to express courier, the parcel arrived on the same day that the cheap slow shipping was estimated to arrive.Good luck!
Not to bother you too much but what magic words did you tell support for them to fix it?
I think I may have used live chat (Just spent the last 10 minutes looking in my email inbox but can't find the conversation) but I didn't say anything particularly "special". I think I contacted them after i-parcel's tracking said that the parcel had content not permissible for export.
Maybe explain how you're in Australia, and you emailed i-parcel who said they don't ship out lithium ion batteries. You can say "The product listing says that this item can be shipped to Australia. What can I do now if the carrier whose service I paid for refuses to send me my tablet?" and hope they bump you up to DHL.
From my experience, the Amazon support staff have always been very willing to do anything to make their customers happy.
Live chat from Amazon is amazing, I have got some free shipping through them. I also reported a double item received and they told me to keep both.
The live chat rep sent me a new order but were unable to confirm through which shipping carrier, so there is a slight chance its being sent through iparcel again and thus I will run into the same problem…but I hope not.
EDIT: WELL SHIT. Looks like I got a full refund that I didn't even ask for, unsure if I'm getting the tablet as well though.
When my item was delayed, they sent me another one with express shipping and it arrived in 4 days. One week later my other item arrived too.
Hah, my new order is being sent through i-parcel again what a (profanity) joke this shit is.
@chipstss: Forgot to say that the second item that was sent with express shipping was via DHL.
I bought a Nexus 7 (2013) earlier this year and it kept going back and forth between Amazon and i-parcel taking weeks in between. It came down to some customs-related issue where i-parcel refused to ship anything with lithium-ion batteries overseas.
You should send a message to Amazon support and let them know of the situation. They'll probably bump you up to DHL express shipping (which does ship lithium-ion batteries overseas) for free.
